ISC MEETING TOMORROW/DALE ROSS ARTICLE REMOVED
Just a reminder that the Indigent Services Committee will meet tomorrow at 12:00 noon in Dale Ross's office on the eighth floor of the Broward Courthouse. Judge Ross, at the last meeting, made it clear that this is an open forum to discuss any concerns you may have regarding SPD fees, the proposed audit of Broward's "wheel", or other important issues, so please feel free to address your concerns (he insisted on going off the agenda last time to question me on extraneous issues, setting the precedent for open and frank discussion on whatever may be of interest to you).
Lastly, the article from the Daily Business Review (DBR) entitled "Broward's Chief Judge Is Still Going Strong, But Foes Wonder Where Dale Ross, Powerlifter, Keeps Firm Grip On Job Despite Admitted 'Ability To Irritate'", posted on JAABLOG on 11/20/06 with the DBR's kind permission, has been removed. The DBR called me and told me permission was withdrawn, but would not tell me why or whether any influence had been exerted or displeasure expressed from the powers that be regarding the posting of this fascinating profile of Judge Ross. Let's hope it's just a coincidence that permission to run an article that shows Judge Ross to be more than a little human has been withdrawn, particularly in light of Administrative Order I-88-A-2 designating the DBR (then called the Daily Review) as the record newspaper for Courthouse publications.
My thanks to the kind folks at the DBR for their original permission to run the article and I sincerely hope I didn't get them in any hot water.
