MEDIA 7/3: SPECIAL PROSECUTOR FOR ZACK; GREENE CLEARED - THINKS HE AND ROSS ARE "TROPHIES"

I love the quotes from Ross and Greene.  Could these guys be in denial?

Guess what guys - everything isn't about you.  The house you built as administrators is a mess and the community pays the price.  How about taking some responsibility for a change?  Like a true leader should?  And guess what Charlie, anyone sitting in judgement of a human being, facing the loss of his liberty, who sniffs the term "NHI" about the victim and witnesses too, has got major issues, no matter what some political body has to say.

Broward's merciless prison machine marches on...

HERALD:
Chief Judge Election:

"...Chief Judge Dale Ross says he regrets his decision to step down.

''I'm leaving the new chief judge with a whole new set of problems,'' said Ross, who announced six weeks ago that he was stepping down.

''I fell on the sword for the benefit of the judicial circuit, so it could move forward,'' Ross said. ``But I didn't anticipate the events that were going to unfold.''"

"There would be no higher trophy than to take down the chief judge's administrative judges," he said."

Interesting to note that Zack's attorney has also represented Ross in the past, or so I'm told. It's no wonder he can't be reached for comment.

Greene still attempting to blame someone else for his stupidity! And his attorney's explanation sounded more like a plea for leniency than anything else before the JQC whose findings were to be anticipated. He was picked on in school for wearing an eye patch and for being Jewish? I ask: How pathetic can it get? Have these people absolutely no shame? Is it all about their games? Has he learned nothing except how to save himself from the jaws of his own arrogance this time round? Obviously not.

the fundamental problem is that the JQC rairly if ever finds any judge to have done anything wrong short of armed robbery.
The secrecy of the JQC should be challenged by a public records request and then subsequent lawsuits to challeng that secrecy. with Gov crist saying he wants more open gov, this is the time to break the stranglehold of the jqc, the "dark hole", as I call it.
simply put there is absolutely no oversight of the judges in florida and that means the public has no protection from the scoundrels and scoflaws who take advantage of their power and position.
that is not to say there are not many good judges. but there are many bad ones who get away with criminal and deviante behavior with no fear of getting caught.

It's getting old, Greene. It's really gross, your role as the persecuted schoolboy. No excuse will suffice with regard to the comment you made of NHI. Shows what you're really made of.

Leaders? Not here. The problem with this county is they are mainly political hacks attracted by a soft gig and a fat pension. Just do whatever Satz and Ross want and you'll be safe for 30 years x 3.3 (watch your Karma though).

99% of them don't ever go any higher. They must like the warm slime and ooze of the cesspool.

Another crying jag, but this time by our soon to be replaced chief judge? A little misplaced don't you think at election time of a new chief? What's all the crying about? Maybe his conscience is bothering him. But, then again, probably not.

it's funny that greene thinks being a criminal admin judge is a prestigious thing. or chief judge for that matter. it's administrative guys, why not concentrate on interpreting the law for a change?

his comments are illustrative of the real problems here. the ego of these small time men, who possess incredible power over only the weakest, powerless, and often mentally ill members of society.
try therapy guys. the public is tired of paying the price for your self-worth problems.

Awww Bill looks more like your in denial. You and your buddies make a huge deal out of things that despite the 10 people who write on here think, real people in the community could care less about. As of this post on the Sentinal Blog 60 people commented on Seidlin and 12 on Greene, see no one cares.
I cant wait til you run or support someone for judge and go out there and cry about overcrowded jails, you will saddened to see no one cares.

Again you lie in your writing. When Green made the comment the trial was over and the Defendant was acquitted. So when the statement was made no one's liberty was on the line.

I can think of a multiplicity of reasons why Dale may be crying this time. Some of which may have to do with review and regret at what he has fostered on our judiciary. I hope the hard working judges do something about it this time though. It would be a pity if a new direction couldn't be taken to bring back integrity to our judiciary.

What's all the tears about? No wonder he wanted to keep the press out of the equation of the election process. Are you saying he was actually crying during the vote? I don't now that anyone wants to see a crying judge again. You've got to be kidding, right?

This is one member of the public that does care. I came to this blog recently only to see what a bad state our judiciary is in. I thought things were bad up north, but this place is a mess. The only way it can change is if people become involved in whats going on. Otherwise, you can expect this. keep the focus on cleaning up the mess and things will get better.

Ross regrets his decision to step down? First he wouldn't be pushed out of office, then he steps down, and now he regrets his decision to step down? Our former chief judge seems to be all over the place these days. Or is this kind of behavior really any different form his regular up and down/all over the place actions of the past? Man, Broward has to move on passed this guy. We need a complete break from the antics associated with Ross and his followers. These kinds of utterances are demonstrative of the problems he's created and spread throughout our judiciary. Is he on medication or something?

And he couldn't anticipate the recent events. How about allowing the sickness here to foster, grow and multiply for 20 years? What is wrong with you Dale? Don't you get it yet? This is your mess, you looked away for 20 years. Now stay out of politics and let the judges decide without any pressure from you who the next CJ should be.

In all fairness to Charlie Greene, I have found at least on the civil side, and at least one time on the criminal side, he was a fair judge.

I can see his NHI comments were under breath and only underscore the utter frustration that a judge might sense when dealing with unreliable victims, witnesses and a defendant who's own criminal charges or record is rivaled by his accusers.

There is a time when many people, rational people in the community, are so disgusted with crime, they exclaim "Those animals!" Its not a far leap from exclaiming "Those animals" to "NHI".

I'm not defending what he said. When a judge says that, its intemperate and insensitive to minorities, though it was aimed at the characters involved in the courtroom drama and not their skin.

Regardless of what you think of Judge Greene, he is no where near the utter disappointment that Zack or Seidlin and especially Ross have been. That trio has been a chronic and perennial issue. Seidlin for being lazy and refusing to rule or try cases unless they benefitted him; Zack for borrowing money that he can't pay back; and Ross for allowing the craziness to get out of hand year after year, and joining in the judicial abuses by potentially steering cases and making rulings to favor certain litigants or their lawyers.

I sincerely hope that Stacey Ross' appointment to the bench was not in fact a payoff for Dale Ross's actions. But the insider connections, suggest that is more likely than not.

But picking on Charlie Greene is in my opinion quite petty.

Go for the bigger game fish guys. Charlie's not your tuna.

    Glass,

You appear to be a wise and learned man around here. At the time Stacy Ross was chosen by JEB to be Judge, Bill Scherer was removed as counsel for NBHD for overbilling etc. Jebs friends in Broward took over the NBHD and knocked Scherer out. Obviously at this point JEB was no fan of Scherer. Taking Bill out of the picture, where is there a tie between the Chief Judge in the most Democratic County in FL and at the time the most popular Republican Gov ever in Fl?
