having had the pleasure to sharing many years of private criminal trial litigation at the corresponding time as did Dijol's I must admit, like many others, I did not view him as a judicial candidate....but then again I can say the same with regard to the likes of Dale Cohen and a host of others. Having had both a civil proceeding and a most recent motion to suppress before our new member of browards criminal circuit bench, I gotta tell ya that, I for one find Dijol's to run a tight ship, go out of his way to be fair(although i disagreed with many of his sustained objections on relevancy grounds) and has the balls to do the right thing! He doesnt take any shit from anybody (well, mabey a bit too much from the perjurous street level narc detectives) but if thats the worst thing I can conger up,after 27 years of trying cases, than he's an A -lister!! I was fortunate enough to get thrown in to the pool only minutes before the suppression was to be heard, going in before Powell hoping to be the first broward criminal defense guy to leave with an order granting a dispositive motion to suppress. I ended up with Mr Dijol's and I have found more respect for his most apparent efforts to stay within the law, grant latitude when appropriate, control both the attorney's and witnesses and show an open mind. This, I believe to be the epitome of what a 'judge" who is as detached and neutral as any human being can be. Im looking at him , with some additional growth and bench experience to set a standard among browards criminal bench that we can all be proud of!! Of course, this opinion has absolutely no connection to the courts order granting my motion. The guy has the demeanor and poise of a veteran judge....all he needs now is a bit more of an education from an evidentiary standpoint....but dont we all? bottom line...class act who rules from the right place and does so with a great degree of political correctness....that may not be my style...but who gives a shit. CONSIDER YOURSELF FORTUNE IF THE LAW AND/OR FACTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR NOT TOTALLY INCOMPETENT SHOULD YOU BE BLESSED WITHF THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOUR CASE HEARD BY HIS HONOR.I SHIT YOU NOT.

You mentioned Dale Cohen, he only got it because he was came before Bush it was down to him and Seidman and this was weeks after the Herald article about Hollywood came out. While qualified, it was only his first time sent up. Dale was in the right place at the right time. Dale has been a goog judge.
