"Eager to restore public confidence in the county's judiciary and relegate a pileup of judicial transgressions to the past, Tobin said Friday: "We're just going to go forward in a positive way, and we're not looking back."

Ross admits "I've got no natural talent and no ability". What does that say about the other judges that allowed him to run this circuit for 16 years? Looks like Broward Politics were at work for a long time to me.

On Jenne: Clients go to jail for lengthy stays for having committed less egregious crimes like residue cases, and duck killings... Go figure.

Grimm describes the state of our judiciary as well. Hope Tobin can straighten it out. Its been a long time coming.

Ken Jenne continued to cost the taxpayers of Broward County ($376,000.00)right up to the zero hour. This is typical of how he ran the entire BSO operation.
It was apparent he planned no correction in the charges to the municipalities that BSO served. Without consideration of the over taxed citizens it is unlikely there will be much sympathy for Ken Jenne.
All BSO personnel should be paid on the basis of their abilities and not be expected to falsify figures to make Ken Jenne look good. No upper eschelon personnel were ever charged and punished for their activities that included directing rank and file officers to file false figures related to crimes solved in Broward County.
It was always the "little guy" that took the heat.
This has been known for a long time., why would anyone expect more from Ken Jenne when his personal future was on the line.
The men and women of BSO deserve better and so do the tax paying citizens of Broward County.
Hopefully the Governor will not make the mistake of appointing another career politician and will appoint a career law enforcement officer to be Sheriff of Broward County. Ken Jenne was out of his element and not qualified to make decisions besed on knowledge of law enforcement. He used his political knowledge to promote him self into a position of power that controlled allmost three quarters of a billion dollars of our tax monies.
The future is still unsure both for Ken Jenne and our citizens but there is hope for a better tomorrow. That is more than we could say if Ken Jenne had retained his position.

The FBI should handle this one Ken. Seems to me that Satz has a problem here.

    1. Why wasn't a special prosecutor appointed? Satz's office, and Satz himself (he worked with Jenne in the early days), have a very close relationship. Zack, Seidlin, any local atty in trouble gets a special prosecutor request, but not BSO??

    2. Look what happened to all the trials of the little guys that were charged. Mistrials, evidence not turned over, a JOA from a judge married to a BSO officer. No convictions on felonies, if memory serves.

Broward's slime pit needs to be drained once and for all. The backroom boys need to leave Broward to the next generation who are untainted by old time swamp politics.
