I'd love to see Cheryl's ctroom decorum change when the shoe is on the other foot!

One thing you have to give her - she was rude to everyone. State, BSO, Defense, Client - it made no difference. Maybe that's why she's in trouble now, I don't know, I mean they sure don't seem to care if it's just defendants getting screwed.

She needs to spend some time praying she isn't treated the way she treats people. She deserves what she gets and I hope it serves to shake her up a little bit. It's like she's whacked or something. She doesn't seem to be a very happy woman underneath it all.

what is it about these judges that makes them think it's ok to behave like this?

it's sad to say but maybe the JQC should make an example out of Judge Aleman and show the rest of the judges in this circuit that this behavior will NOT be tolerated.

"professionalism and civility. nothing less will be tolerated." how ironic that these judges all have this catchy slogan on their bench.

maybe they should practice what they preach.

Its amazing how many people hate these judges yet they all freely give 100s of dollars to their campaigns.

They are going to come up empty handed the next turn of the wheel. They even rely on the same old lawyers that used to get all the cases before the abolition of the wheel to come up with their filing fees. KICK OUT THE SLACKERS AND ABUSERS OF PUBLIC TRUST AND BROWARD WILL START ITS SLOW RETURN TO DECENCY AND HONOR.

when did Broward have "decency & honor"? That was back before Spechler, Ross & Co. weasled their way onto the bench.

I moved here 25 years ago, long before "Ross & Co." came on to the bench. I don't remember much "decency and honor" then either.

Maybe our "Unoffocial Historian" can comment on Broward County B.R. (Before Ross).

i'd like to know what it was like too. for instance, was it even worse with blatant old south racism or was it genteel?

The days of that era were not without their share of occasional outrageous happenings, but the nastiness, bitterness and contempt that has shown forth from the bench in the past 16 years can not be rivaled.

In thinking about Judge Aleman (before whom I have had the great displeasure of appearaing) and in fact to all Judges I would commend the following quote from Socrates: "Four things belong to a judge: to hear courteously, to answer wisely, to consider soberly, and to decide impartially." Being a Judeg should be taken as a serious and sobering undertaking.

Not here Miamian, here getting a robe seems to mean "I'm better than you and I'm going to do whatever I want because you can't do anything about it."

It all started with our beloved former Chief Ross, imho. This was the message he imparted and fostered, hence the mess.

Hopefully Toobin can turn it around although many of our judges are lost causes at this point I'm afraid.
