Why do we need another political hire when we have so many good cops who have earned the position?

(w/o jenne, bso wouldnt be nearly as great as it is now.. people overlook that)
Honesty,integrety, and a real leader. He has run numerous departments in many hostile political enviroments and always prevailed. He could save the Sheriffs Office and make it what it should have been over a decade ago.
Now let them do their jobs and capture the people that killed the deputy. And also the gas station attendant in Sunrise last eek.
Nothing has been done so far.
That could only happen if the next Sheriff isn't a politician, like a real cop for Sheriff. They should leave Lamberty in there. He's a good man.
Lamberti handled the Jenne transition like the old pro he is. His words were inspiring. Watch as Tallahassee puts a politician in and Lamberti and other veterans continue to do all the work anyway.

In whose hands was the BSO in previously? What is it in the hands (or pockets) of corrupt vendors and providers of services who shelled out minions for contracts. The breadth and scope of what BSO has grown into can no longer go unchecked. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The first step is to scale back the BSO (6,000 employees???) accountable to whom, selected by a lone sheriff with boundless power. Come on, WAKE UP! Al Lamberti wants to be the permanent Sheriff, but who would not want to be, just ask Ken Jenne.
Still think Lamberti as a cop would do a better job than some political appointment from the list we've seen of political opportunists looking to advance themselves without any concern for what really needs to be done; Clean up corruption in Broward County. This place is a cesspool of politically motivated bottom feeders all looking to promote only themselves. The Governor would do right thing to discard the people I've seen interested in the position.

Broward County: Deputies' union backs interim sheriff for post

The union that represents Broward Sheriff's Office's law enforcement deputies formally endorsed the interim sheriff Friday to be permanently appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist.
The Broward County Police Benevolent Association sent a letter to the governor endorsing interim Sheriff Al Lamberti to permanently replace Ken Jenne, who stepped down before pleading guilty to federal tax evasion and mail fraud conspiracy.
Meanwhile, the list of candidates for the job has grown to 11. In addition to Lamberti, the following people have applied to Crist for the appointment: Melody Fortunato, Craig S. Glasser, Scott Israel, former Broward Sheriff Nick Navarro, Daniel Stermer, Philip B. Sweeting, Wiley D. Thompson III, Bruce Udolf, Edward J. Werder and Elijah H. Williams.

I am proud of Gov. Christ to see we didn't need a politician, attorney, or judge to do what Lamberti was qualified to do.

How can Dhanji put up a website "SHAK FOR SHERIFF" when he's not even a candidate registered with the BOE? Who paid for the website...Is he already getting money to run for an office he has no business running for. There is more to this guy then meets the eye!!! 20 + lawsuits and failed business'. If you're talking about the background of Lamberti, had you been reading the papers and listening to the news, you'd know his background/qualifications.
If you're talking about anyone else, it doesn't matter; They aren't Sheriff.
And your point? He is the most qualified, hands down. You sound like Judy Stern...or maybe a Wiley Thompson...or Al Lamberti? BTW, he is not a politician, he is a public servant appointed by 2 Governors, has law enforcement AND top secreat clearance-military background, JD, Civil & Human Rights leader, business man who can handle a nearly ONE BILLION dollar budget, so stop the ad hominem attacks!
Amen!!!!! Whoever posted this thread is right on the money. Mr. Dahnji has received funds through his so called Human Relations Council, which has not done one thing to promote diversity in the community. This man is the biggest fraud! Honesty and integrity, how can he say that with a straight face. Go to his website, go to press releases and write your blog there. I did. Hopefully someone will investigate his business dealing and realize what a fraud he is. His credentials through ot of state law enforcement agencies were bought and paid for by his friends (Abrams) and others that support him for sheriff, all they want is a job if he should get elected. The best part of all is that he will screw them as well as the people arond him who take the fall for him. Mr. Dhanji makes sure his name is not on any business incorporation or he has taken his name of other businesses so that he can shield himself from liability and fraud. He also uses his position as a state commissioner to try to influence business deals. Hopefully the press and other candidates will catch wind of this blog and investigate his business dealings. Look at Capital Meadows (Tallahassee apartment/condo conversion) he closed the deal with no money (used security deposits to pay closing costs, then defaulted on all of his investors loand with the mortgage companies) ask any of his investors in this deal. He cannot pay his rent on time and he has written more bad checks then anyone should be allowed.

What a joke, this guy cannot not even run a small business nevermind an office that has about $750 million in it's budget. Look into Mr. Dhanji's business such as Revell Oil, Tiger Petroleum, Counterbalance Investments, American Escrow and title and Alliance Escrow and Title, Antrium Mortgage. These are just a few to look into to discover fraud and other poor business decisions. This man has no integrity and has no concept of the word integrity. He can be bought and he is always for sale. If should ever get elected, we will wish that Ken Jenne was back in office. Check Mr. Dhanji's property taxes for his home in Coconut Creek, I wonder if he has paid them yet? The investors in his Capital Meadows deal have all had their credit ruined because of his lack of payment s to the mortgage companies. He also is being sued almost daily from the tenants because he cannot pay their security deposits back to them when their lease is up because he has no money in the escrow account because he used all the security deposit money to pay his closing costs to complete the deal (he had no cash to close). This guy has no morales and will lie right to your face then give you a check that he knows will bounce. The best part is that he will blame someone else for the problems he creates. In a recent article published in the Forum Coconut Creek, Frank Pumilla makes a statement that this man is the most compassionate man he has ever met, well Frank if he shouls ever get elected he will not even rember who you are! Watch your back, Mr. Dhanji has no problem sticking a knife in it. On his website he states he is a man of Honesty and Integrity, that is the biggest lie of all. Broward County beware and reporters please look into his finances and business dealings as you will discover none of them are honest or legit.
It sound like JT has provided enough information for County, State and The Feds to start an investigation. Let's see if "Good Government" does what it is suppose to do, find out the truth about this guy and if the allegations are correct remove this guy from office and prosecute him.
