MAJOR INCIDENT IN DIJOLS
Reports coming in of a very bad security situation in Dijols this morning.
A mentally ill defendant cut his head open against the wall. Blood was everywhere. BSO was late in arriving and it's reported that the Judge may have added fuel to the fire with inappropriate comments.

Please post transcript of proceedings. One wonders if this kind of thing is going to stop until one of our judges lose their position. Only then it seems are judges going to take their responsibility seriously. Tobin thus far has seemingly done nothing to stem the number of judges behaving badly but stand up for them. Makes one think that he's caught between a rock and a hard place insofar as doing what is right versus the necessity of protecting his judges and playing the part of politician to keep the boat from being swamped.

Poor Pedro. He was probably a little off today. 9:30 seemed like 10:30, 10:30 seemed like 11:30, etc. Hopefully he'll have it all worked out by next Monday.
Does anyone know if Debbie Carpenter is going to stand up on this one, or stand aside for the judge? Has she ordered the transcript? What is she going to do about this? I'm sure the papers will be in touch with her soon. It'll be interesting to see if she really cares about holding the judge's actions up to scrutiny. Others have begun to come forward in attempts to change the deplorable situation as it exists with our judges here in Broward. Here's a chance to see if she is a true advocate for her client.
First Levenson and now Pedro! And the powers to be still think the problem is not systemic. And the judges think they don't need diversity training? What's wrong with these people?
They are not the first and by the looks of things won't be the last. This is Broward County.

It was pretty bad from what I hear. Whether any of it appears on the record is another question. It was being talked about all over the courthouse 30 minutes after it happened.

I don't know. Debbi knew about and challenged the inequitable way originally the SPD appointments were being manipulated by the judges. Although, she never followed up on it.

I heard Benny gave Dijoles a funny look which prompted the comments.
dont just blame dijols on this one...i heard that bso took FOREVER to respond to the courtroom. can you say "liability"?
this poor kid was not getting his meds, has a history of acting out in court and all the in court deputies could do was put on their gloves and stay away from him.
dijols pressed the panic button and bso arrived over 15-20 minutes later. i'd hate to see when they would've come without a panic button. this situation has happened before and it creates a dangerous situation.
i think dijols should only get 50% of the blame on this...bso gets the other 1/2.
Debbie is a class act. I especially remember when she manipulated the County to give her huuby exclusive rights to sell hot dogs outside the Couthouse and forcing the long time guy supporting his family to lose his income.
