"I've never heard of someone brandishing a gun in a crowded store not being charged with a felony," said Broward Public Defender Howard Finkelstein. "Maybe it's happened, but it's very rare. If this was one of our clients, they would have been arrested and charged with a felony."
Finkelstein said that even if victims left before police arrived, the fact that there was a surveillance tape showing the incident could have given police enough evidence to charge Salesman with a felony."
HERALD:
FRED GRIMM ON FSP LAW SUIT (11/29):

"Guards at our own Florida State Prison have indulged in a kind of sadistic sport, spraying tear gas or pepper spray into the locked cells of mentally ill prisoners for doing what mentally ill prisoners might be expected to do.
An ongoing federal lawsuit dating back to 2003 has described in gruesome detail how guards blast skin-blistering, eye-burning, throat-burning, lung-searing clouds of chemicals into the locked solitary cells of unruly, crazy-acting prisoners. As if enough pepper spray would convince mentally unhinged inmates to become model prisoners."
COP-KILLER TRIAL POSTPONED:

"A judge dismissed Donald Delahanty's defense team and postponed the trial indefinitely...
A judge makes the ruling after an investigation reveals Delahanty was plotting with his girlfriend to kill a witness, the witness' mother and a prosecutor...
According to the ruling, Delahanty's girlfriend did volunteer work in (defense attorney) Storrs' office and had unrestricted access to his case file. She also was allowed to take phone calls from her jailed boyfriend that were not monitored by the jail because they were considered lawyer-client communications." With Schwartzy representing him he's lucky he didn't get life. I can't believe this one. Anyone toting a gun like that in a grocery store should be marched right off to jail. Has this commissioner filed for one of the judge's spots yet?
IS SATZ SO BLATANTLY SOFT ON CORRUPTION AND DISHONESTY IN PUBLIC OFFICIALS THAT THEY ARE NOW ALLOWED TO SKIRT GUN LAWS? HOW COME A POOR MAN WOULD GET THE MIN MAN BEFORE YOU CAN SAY THE WORDS DOUBLE STANDARD?
ah the article says schwartzreich is the lawyer. obviously the guy is going down so i bet dave said no to him.
The guards action against the mentally ill, is sick sick sick.
Interestingly, it's also the action of the mentally ill.
These guards should be put on medical leave including therapy until, if it's not too late, they can recapture their humanity.
Happy holidays.
it starts at the top. if judges can break all the rules and treat everyone like garbage than why should prison guards act like adults?
