wrong as usual bill
the only person that can take credit if they deserve it are the parents of the dead child without them taking the stance they did SAO would have filed this as an adult weeks ago despite howard et. al.
The nasty little secret we on this blog know is that this kid will probably get stuck in a level 10 for years which is just as bad as going to prison. True maybe he does not get life or a long prison sentence but doing a few years at a level 10 is going to screw him up forever anyway.
Wait a minute, the defense attorneys, until the state let the cat out of the bag about the plea deal, were saying they just wanted juvenile sanctions. Turns out that's what was on the table anyway. How's that a victory? Sounds like someone was trying to make their 15 minutes last as long as possible.
All done at a very resonable price I might add. Another outstanding job P.D.s. Maybe the Florida Legislature will give us a $50.00 raise next year.
Howard is a true leader. Now maybe he'll get those video links to the jail back up for his dedicated lawyers....
Maybe Howie will be able to relax now and get off the cabbage.
Mmmmmmmmm... Cabbage. Shhhhhh... Satz likes green beans I heard. Because the child is so green, his passion for the Legend of the Jolly Green Giant formed the basis of the decision as well.
Kudos to bad veggies.
Satz's problem is he is terrified of people thinking he is weak. He makes his filing decisions to show how tough he is, not in the interest of justice. Maybe he's starting to grow some real stones now, or more likely the PD doesn't lay down anymore and let him have his way without a fight. This decision certainly was the right one, for a change.
Worthy Effort to all involved!
inspirational lawyering
Hats off to the PDs Office for a job well done.
how is this a victory for those people? Maybe call this a victory for justice, or a victory for all involved.
This blog and the comments section ridicule certain people all day long, but doesnt give cudos to their opponents when they do something that they desired. Some of you people need to take some psychology classes to understand how people work. If you congratulate and thank certain people for making decisions in your favor (instead of you taking credit for it), maybe they will be quicker and more likely to make the same decisions in the future... just saying... b/c i want the sao to do more things like this in the future.
Its like the PD's office is using this case for PR purposes... in fact, i see it as being so, and that is shameful.
Also, if what i heard was true about yesterday, and if yesterday's court hearing is indicative of future lawyering, they better take the plea deal. B/c that lady for the state will wipe the floor with that dude with long hair from the pd's office.
This had all the makings of Tate all over again except the prosecution appears to have finally learned from past mistakes. Let's see if Howie and is people learn from the defense's past mistakes even if it means letting go of the limelight.
Last time I checked, bat, hand or wall, it's still called murder if the victim dies.
Yes, 10:30pm But who did it?
Other Adults in the house??
Why is the state asking for a court order to go in to search again? Have you ever heard of that? Why not get a search warrant? Why not get consent? Have they cleared the baby sitter?
family won't give consent is what I heard. That is a bit disturbing.
Maybe you better learn the art of understanding people youself. No PR effort intended is how I see. Only hard work and the will to do the right thing motivated the participants involved. Your argument falls short of hitting the mark when an accomplishment of this sort is performed by people for people with no motive other than the pursuit of justice. Your cynicism of those that accomplished this feat wreaks of something that's not becoming in the least to anyone who cares about their fellow man.
To stop the steam roller of the State is no easy feat. Congratulations for a job exceedingly well done.
Not surprising this was accomplished through the media. The "steamroller" indeed. If only someone would run against the current State Attorney. Replace the "steamroller" with a conscientious individual with a determination to stop violent crime and make the streets safe again.
