JAABLOG RUMOUR MILL

In the wake of Judge Zack's rebirth, we hear a strong buzz around the hallways that everyone's favorite, Judge Larry Seidlin, will also soon join the ranks of the exonerated. Great news for our Larry, who should hit the airwaves shortly thereafter. It's going to be all Larry, all the time!
Could we soon be seeing a new Chief Judge for the criminal division? This one's making the rounds too.
Supposedly Judge Ana Gardiner misses trying the big cases, which makes sense, since she used to try more cases than anyone else. She's made great progress, but we hear she may throw in the admin robe to get back to the ROC.
Lots of names bandied about for her replacement, we'll leave that to speculation, though we hear a relatively new judge may take the reigns. Now that would be refreshing.
Post a comment. Congratulate us if we have it right, correct us if we have it wrong. And don't worry about our feelings. We can take it.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RUMOURS, BABY!

Now that Zack's cleared, he can take one of the Circuit Court vacancies and HE can be the chief criminal, er, criminal chief.
I heard through the grapevine that Bill may actually try a case this year --- yea, right.
She should stay in her supervisor job. We like 4900 being closed almost all the time.
Gardiner's probably had it with Sprinkles finger in her face. The guy's a terror. Now he got Cowart to fall for it too. Bad move. Thought Cowart was his own man. Guess not.
Great video! When is the Seidlin Show coming? Maybe he can lose four feet and play Dale on one of the episodes. The Nation expects the weirdest from Broward's Judiciary, so give it to them Larry. You'd have so many characters to chose from. Take your pick!
Adj are you off your meds? when and why would spechler have any dealings with gardiner? slippen in your old age? hair dye getting to your brain? you spechler obsession is out of control your can't even make a good argument any more. how are you and the wife doing the wolk campaign?
I'm sure that's the spin Gardiner will put on it for returning to being just a trial judge, but the real reason is she's probably sick and tired of some of the other psycho judges threatening her for trying to break up the Good Ole Boy Monopoly of what they think is their sole dominion of power. Well, news flash, but they've already screwed that up themselves.
Spechler and Zack are both great judges. I have appeared in front of Spechler for years. He is one of the best judges in Broward. Zack, is new to civil county court, but he is a great judge as well. The civil lawyers are glad to have him. The whinning on this site is enough to make one sick.
Aherd: If your sole purpose in life is to marvel at being a judge, go for it, man. Put your money where your mouth is and run. I'd toss you a bill. You couldn't do any worse than what we have, could you? What are you waiting for. To use your words, grow a sack and stop playing the role of minion. You might surprise yourself.
Gardiner give up a prestigious title? Sounds out of character. She's a real climber that one.
"Gardiner [is] a real climber that one".
I've heard that too. I heard she climbed on Pete Patanzo and about 50 other lawyers that have appeared in her courtroom (I was about to say appeared in front of her, but it would be more accurate to say they appeared behind her, underneath her or on top of her also).
Ha Ha!
Does Cowart have a blood pressure problem or is he just embarrased to be in the picture?
Don't know, but Scholnik sure doesn't look happy to be included.
Wasn't Patanzo the lead prosecutor in her division at the time of the alleged interaction? Is this not against the canons of ethics? Why is she still a judge if this is true?
Heard the guy that Dale hired for his PR when he was still standing, and who incidentally is running for Sheriff, is under some heavy fire. You know how to pick them, Dale.
Gardiner's going where?
And how may times did she climb on Geeoge Shahood to let her violate the Rules of Court and protect her while she was doing it? Is this pill on the pill?
Seidlin had better not be exonerated. I'm the guy who wrote Satz and got a special prosecutor appointed by the Governor.
You're welcome.
Jack Thompson, Attorney
Zack - Seidlin - Why are they great news? Pompus Zack got lucky and will be worse to be around. Seidlin? Now there's a real pillar of society too.
What will they do to embarass BCJC next?
WHAT A COUPLE OF CROOKS HIDING BEHIND BLACK ROBES
I had hoped we'd seen the last of Judge Larry at least in this lifetime. He's coming back as a celebrity judge lie Judge Judy? I can hardly wait. He represents everything wrong with judges in Broward; Shamless political self promoters. As for Judge Zack, it's just gross what judges get away with here. Never happen up north.
Come on boys -- other than a stupid ice cream cone, there hasn't been anything interesting on here to read since this thread went up.
Let's get some more courthouse gossip and rumors going on.......
Spechler and Zack are both great judges? Oh, Man. You haven't practiced here very long or you've never had many cases, or you're a kiss butt.
Nagh, it's just the Moose is Loose Aherd. Aren't they supposed to be confined to Yellowstone?
Dont know Spechler well at all, but having been an APD for Judge Zack for more than 6 months, I can say without reservation that he is a great judge.
He is fair, doesn't hurt a defendant for exercising a right to a trial, doesn't go out of his way to help the State do their job or the cops do their job, and is not afraid to tell a LEO what he thinks of his BS testimony.
Under his sarcasm is someone who knows the law and treats the constitution with the respect it deserves.
Poor financial judgment aside (do you really need to borrow $2500 instead of just taking a Visa cash advance, but then again, I dont know the man's finances), there are few judges whose courts I would rather appear in to try a case or argue suppression of evidence.
"The Complement of Truth as one knows it is a rarity all too seldom found."
Poor Financial Judgment is a trait Zack has repeatedly shown over the years. It's too bad he hasn't learned from his mistakes. To bring his judgment into question again is not something I'd wish on anyone serving as a judge here, but he seems to have a weakness regarding his personal finances that taints other facets of his life including the integrity of his position. Judges must remain above reproach in both their personal and professional lives if they are to maintain the respect of those appearing before them. To accept anything else is to accept error as somehow acceptable in the equation of Justice which should be limited as far as is possible.
I have been practicing in front of Spechler for as long as I can remember and there is no way you are right as I have only had good experiences in front of him. You are a bitter for something completely unrelated to how Spechler is on the bench. I say you need to man up and stop bitching. I think you are just the type of person who likes to complain. Prove me wrong and tell me specifically what you are talking about. By the way, how can I be a kiss butt if I do not use my name? Did that question make your head hurt? Sorry. Maybe you should go back to watching cartoons or take a nap.
I think Zack and his financial woes are being commented on, Duffus.
Just because SPECHLER blew a kiss to a member of THE BAR that he liked....... judege autocrats by the way they treat the least of us........ there is no excuse for JAY referring cases to RHONDA for kickbacks....... KANGAROO ARBITRATION.COM.
I like Bob Zack. I think he's a good judge: his schmuck act on the bench is evenly directed at everyone and genuinely entertaining. That said, being good on the bench doesn't excuse highly questionable behavior (to say the least) off the bench. The irony is, I think a lot of junior ASA and APD's can sympathize with him: we all have money problems and can imagine ourselves tempted to do things that aren't exactly appropriate. I, for one, miss him since he went off to civil.
Zack is just a reflection of the kind of judges we have here in Broward. I suppose it would be a little different if he hadn't been the subject of this kind of financial fiasco with a bail bondsman before, but this guy shouldn't be able to feed from the public trough and make his little money deals on the side with attorneys and bail bondsmen that appearing before him. He should have been removed before this, but it's just part and parcel to the underlying problems that exist within our judiciary. It's almost impossible with the way the system is set up to protect itself to remove one of these parasites once they've become enshrined in it. It's a very big problem that undermines integrity. I mean, they caught this judge shoving a check under the door of the person he owed money to for years. What else does it take? The answer more often than not is to have judges reassigned to another division to take the heat off of them until public scrutiny blows over. What kind of fix is that? And of course the press never hesitates to forget the episode in the public interest. Some system. The SA's office further never hesitates to file on residue cases, but when it comes to public officials breaking the law, well, we know where that goes. Just another day in Broward Politics.
