Does anyone else find it interesting that the head JAABer, Bill Gelin, who rails against the current system and our judiciary, is more than willing to play the game when it suits him and his partner?
I thought it was interesting to see that Mr. Gelin has given $500.00 to the campaign of Julio Gonzalez. Why of all the judges would Billy boy make a maxxed out donation to Julio?
But a review of case records reveals much.
Billy and his partner have had a large number of cases in Misdemeanor Domestic recently -- in fact, a majority of Billy's partner's County Court cases are in DV.

Of the closed cases with Julio Gonzalez as the presiding judge, about 40% were cases that miraculously got dropped.
I'm sure that if some other lawyers in town were batting about .400 with one judge in getting cases dismissed outright and were giving $500 donations to their campaign, Mr. Gelin and the rest of his JAABerheads would be screaming from the hills about corruption.

Are you suggesting that it's somehow inappropriate to contribute to any judge's campaign before which you have a case? What is your real complaint? They're all asking for money. What's the big deal?
Put it this way, Diaz isn't going to be thrilled about it. A Bad Omen is never good news.

You misunderstand Jack. If we had more people that stood up for what they believe, the problems would seem easier to deal with. Jack at least despite your criticism of him does what he thinks is right, and from what I've read on this blog, most of his topics are approached with reason and intellect, unlike those that seem to have a problem with him.
