Bye bye pedro, bye bye.
Bernie has my check and my vote! Good Man.
I'll be there with my checkbook! I think he'll win this one easily. It couldn't go to a better person.
Cool. I really like Bober. Wish we had more people like him.
Is there going to be enough parking? My money is on Bober.
I wish I could give more than the 500 max. He's a fine man with all the attributes we would want for judge.
I bet Pedro writes a check for Bernie too. It's that much of a sure thing so no one should take any chances.
Bernie is going to mop the floor with this Dijols.
What will Pedro do if he loses? Will he return as defense lawyer Dijols to the BCC? Will he take a state job? Will he be too embarrassed to show his face and relocate to Miami? This should be interesting.
Bernie is going to win hands down this contest. Where do I send my check?
Bober is one of the nicest people to ever seek the office of Judge in this town. I will be there at his fund raiser with whatever he needs.
Bernie: With anonymous friends like these, you can't lose. I can't claim I'm much better, given that I'm also posting anonymously, but for goodness sake, if the "groundswell of support" to take down Judge Dijols was so great, why won't any of these "supporters" sending checks sign their names?
Will they all bring starter checks without identifying information to the fundraiser -- whoops, nope...you'll have to give your name and occupation at the event so it can be posted (and scrutinized) for the entire world (and the other judges) to see who you're supporting.
Hopefully these folks have a spouse with a maiden name so that person can give money -- maybe.
And PS. This thread got put up at the same time as the famed JAABlog Rumour Mill.
The fact that this thread has less than 1/4 of the posts than the rumour mill thread (which was mostly mocking and scoffing and attacking a few folks) really says a lot about this blog and the people that post on it. We care more about attacking supposed "enemies" than supporting supposed "friends".
Sad state of affairs.
Actually, the reason why this thread is bare is because while Bernie seems to have the anonymous money and vote, there aren't too many of them. Has Bernie quit his public defender's job? I hear Bob Norman is doing a story about the fact that he is not. I guess Howard wants a politcal machine just like Schreiber.
Look for bar complaints Bober and Finkelstein if there are any improprieties regarding Bernie not having to resign his asst public defender position while running for judges.
Well...two supervising attorneys for the Bar's Broward enforcement office sent checks in to the Gonzalez' campaign... right? So they very well may go after people who do not resign to run.
THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECENT REPORTS ON THE JUDGE RENTING SCHEME HATCHED BY ADRIA QUINTELA and JAY SPECHLER.
There's no law requiring Bernie to resign to run for judge. Gisele Pollack did it as have others in Broward and around the state. So long as he doesn't campaign while on the clock, he shouldn't have a problem.
Pops, look at it this way: You can move in on Kulick and profess undying loyalty to the new regime. That way you can still manage to stay at least in the limelight of what's happening. I'm with you Bernie. Cyberpops just can't stand to see the old guard slipping into oblivion. He'd better position himself or slip on off too. He's headed that way as it looks now. He'' be lurking around your funraiser looking for handouts, you'll see.
I'm happy for you Bernard. I'll give what I can to see someone like you take the bench. There are allot of angry and disillusioned people that want a change in our judiciary. You would be a vast improvement over some of what we have. Friday @ 5:00.
Has Gardiner been at it again? When's it coming out?
If this is all the support Bernie Boober is going to get he's in trouble.
I hear Bob Norman is going to follow the Judge Gardiner story with the Judge Horowitz story. The tale of 2 judges romantically involved with attorneys that appeared before them without notifying the opposing side of the relationship. That would be a serious violation of the Judicial Canons.
MORE PEOPLE LIKE BERNARD BOBER SHOULD RUN FOR JUDGE IN THIS CESSPOOL. CLEAN UP BROWARD JUDICIAL SEATS. OUT WITH INCOMBENTS !!
Let's Go People... this is what we have been waiting for. Now it's time to open the checkbook.
It would be a shame if all this alleged support never materialized and Pedro the Nasty got re-elected. You think he was a pompus --- before? If he gets reelected, get ready to bend over.
My bet is that if April 22 comes and goes with less than $20k collected, Bernie doesn't even qualify and pay his filing fee. Why should he spend the time and his own money if he can't even get the support of the bloggers here.
PEOPLE, if you want some change, put your money where your mouth is.
the check?
Got stuck at work and missed the fundraiser. Who do I make it out to and where do I send it?
I am still in - in spite of the attitude change in that courtroom! Thanks!
FYI There were over 50 people there tonight. Saw many $500 checks in the basket. Team Kulik is here to win.
I missed too. I owe $500 and will pay.
"if April 22 comes and goes with less than $20k collected, Bernie doesn't even qualify and pay his filing fee"
Does he have to raise a certain amount to qualify? Isn't the filing fee only $6,000? Are you saying if he raises less than 20K he won't qualify because he will be disillusioned (which is understandable) or that he will be legally precluded from qualifying/filing based on the lack of fundraising? Is there some law that says this?
