JAABLOG'S SUPREME POSSIBILITIES

                                            3rd DCA's Lagoa                  1st DCA's Padovano

Raoul Cantero's resignation is effective September, 2008.  It's anyone's guess at this point since the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission has yet to send the names to the Governor.  Of course, Butterworth thinks it's important the position goes to an Hispanic (and Lagoa is also married to the influential Paul Huck), while Padovano's name has been bandied about since day one.

                                                             TOO EARLY TO CALL?

Lagoa - obvious choice, just like Porter.

I remember growing up when it was rare for woman to work outside the home. That sure made it easier for us guys in the workplace. Imagine if I didn't have to compete with all the smart woman out there. I could have been a contender!

While I'm sure it's still hush-hush, Kevin Kulik was seen over the weekend meeting with the next Broward County Circuit Judicial Candidate -- none other than Scotty Sherman.

Meeting at a high-class hotdog stand near the Courthouse parking lot over the weekend, Kevin was overheard saying to Scott that he thought he had a "great name for the condos" and that he'd be a "top notch candidate once he cleaned up".

Scott, apparently happy for a hot meal, seemed receptive to the idea and agreed to discuss it further with Kevin if he bought him lunch later this week at a "high class joint, like the Denny's on Federal".

So while not confirmed, it's looking pretty official -- Scott Sherman v. Milly Rodriguez-Powell.

Fundraiser/Organizational Meeting to come 3 days before filing day (so the checks can clear in time for Scott to pay the filing fee) at Kevin Kulik's office. Food and drink to be served (with extra leftovers for the guest of honor).

I've personally taken a number of hits on this blog. But, the ass that gives Scott a hard time is quite possibly one of biggest losers on earth. Scott's problems aren't his own doing. He fights hard everyday. The guy taking a shot at Scott has, in all likelihood, been given all of life's advantages. I'm sure that someone who takes those kinds of shots is someone without children, and someone who used to make fun of kids in school just because they didn't have things. I hope whoever wrote that post gets their ass kicked very soon.

Actually, I think the post was more a comment on where Kevin is having to go to get his candidates, and not as much about Scott. But I'm glad that something said on this blog has gotten you upset, although I'm confused as to why this is it compared to some of the really disturbed things that have been written here in the past.

Wow, you've just described the Trust Fund Baby and Head JAABer. Although I would be surprised if he went after Scott though, but now that you've so aptly described the person who must have written the post, maybe it is him.

Gee-whiz. Why is it that when anyone ever mentions Scott Sherman, the entire blog gets hijacked into a back and forth over whether posting about him is ok or not ok. This has happened twice before too, and it's freaking weird if you ask me.

People get shot at and attacking on this blog every five minutes and it doesn't turn into a sympathy-fest for them when that happens. This is true even for people that don't regularly post on here and probably don't read the blog.

I don't know Scott Sherman except from seeing him walk around the courthouse.

Can someone educate me on why he's special and not subject to attack like everyone else is on this blog? Since I don't know him and I'm a relatively new lawyer, I don't understand the attempted humor of the original poster on this topic, nor do I understand the venom of the reaction.

    Thanks.

Scott is a nice guy who if he ran would have my vote. Make fun of him all you want, at least he's honest.

Funny thing about Scott. Even after the SPDs went away he's still in court everyday. His practice didn't take a hit. He didn't even have to go to work for Josh Fisher like some people.

I heard that Kevin and Brad were having lunch with Adam Katz to get him to run on the platform of how he was abused and jailed by the out of control judges.

I don't think that person is getting paid by Fisher. Katz got a lot of votes when he was in jail.

Scott is a great guy. He was a prosecutor in Ocala for five years. He has been a criminal defense lawyer for many years working primarily with John Contini. He has some issues the specificity of which may be obvious if you meet him. Why does this string of posts bother me more than others? Because only a total loser would continuously kick people while they are down. And, that is what is happening here. By the way, you are spelling his name incorrectly but let's leave it at that. Maybe that's the only saving grace.
