I just got a hard copy. Only 2 left in the box. Great sketches of the players. The article is pretty tough. I wonder, will she sue the paper? That's the question. If it's not true she should. I wonder if their cell and home phone records would become discoverable if there is a suit. If there is contact it still wouldn't prove physical relations but it might be hard to explain vis a vis ex parte if it's during trial. If there is no contact she could be vindicated though.

The Ethics Comm should be looking at Finkelstein I thought he was a full time Public Defender, he is also getting paid by Channel 7, I heard this was and ethics violation maybe even legal. Maybe his newspaper pal Tanya Alonez should look into this or maybe his buddy Norman.
It is way past time that all the players in the justice system in Broward STOP the childish attacks on one another. FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE. If someone has done something wrong, then they should pay the consequences. But the gotcha back and forth especially among the good ole boy judges and the new leadership in the courthouse needs to END. The back corner and underhanded drumming up of dirt on our foes is immature and detrimental. SHAME ON YOU!!!

I think everyone who has a case in Gardiner has an obligation to give this article to their clients.
If a judge and atty have an affair and it ends, must the judge recuse the atty forever? This hardly seems workable. What is the standard? Must the past relationship be disclosed to the client or the prosecution or is it proper to do nothing?
Who took those pictures? How come his head is so much bigger than hers?
I’m not a big fan of Howard, but when I read that some people think he can’t have outside employment with his TV job, I decided to look it up, since I know some judges and ASA's that have second jobs. I was surprised to find that he has the right to do so, just like judges, county commissioner, fire chiefs and others. The issue is not whether he has outside employment. The issue is whether the outside employment creates a conflict with his public position or interferes with his public position.
There are numerous opinions by the Committee on Standards of Conduct Governing Judges that permit full-time elected judges to teach at a university (81-3); teach at a law school (73-17); give paid speeches (92-45)(82-06).
There are also numerous opinions of the Florida State Ethics Commission involving other state officials which permits outside employment, so long that it does not interfere or conflict with the elected official’s or state employee’s primary state position. County Commissioner working for non-profit corporation (96-20); city fire chief teaching a course at a community college (93-5).
Bottom line - let's talk about something real, not a red herring to throw off the scent.
what about the ag opinion that says the chief public defender can't give pro bono legal advice? the flaw in your research is that the chief pd is a constitutional office that says he can't work. it didn't apply when he was an asst pd

I've watched a few of Howard's episodes. He isn't practicing law and he doesn't have a client. He is basically explaining the law the same way a judge does so when he or she teaches a law school class.

how ironic it is that Jay Spechler (not Judge Spechler) gets unseated based on someone signing her name to an affidavit.
After all, he is the one who called in members from the Fla. Bar to discuss, among other things, how to stop this "blog problem" and Conway got a complaint a couple weeks later based on something he signed his name to.

Speaking of Conway its quite interesting that Conway's counsel Fred Haddad is discussed in the New Times as trying to put heat on Norman to kill the Story so Ana wouldn't have a JQC complaint. Interesting how easily one moment he his all about free speech against judges and the next trying to kill a story about a judge.
Can we talk about the judge and SEX. It's a lot more entertaining than the definition of practicing law.
