But whatever you think about his defense of officialdom's scum, it's hard to argue that he doesn't perform his odious duties with shrewdness and stealth. He doesn't grandstand and make outrageous claims. Bogenschutz just works doggedly to either try to keep his clients out of trouble or hammer out a deal to get them as little of it as possible. The lack of excess has been a key to his success. He's a damn good man to have walk through your door when you're in a jam."

As someone who's faced him more than once, my hat's off to him: he deserves every bit of this accolade.
8:10, Sun-Tzu said, "victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win." Bogenshutz understands that maxim better than any lawyer I've ever met.
If Aleman was a difficult client to handle he must really have his hands full with Ana.
Bogenschutz is a great lawyer. But where do you draw the line? Does he care about his own power or personal gain more than the community? If he fixes things for dirty politicians and judges who should be removed from office, is he not worse than they are in the long run? Let's face it, Broward County is one of the most corrupt and subtly racist place in America. He's been doing his thing for 30 years. Would Broward be the way it is without the uber (if misdirected) talents of a man like Bogenschutz?
Point well-taken... and that would be true if he were keeping appointees in office, but all of his "high rolling" clients are elected. The remedy is impeachment, voting them out of office, or asking Governor Crist or the applicable superior (in Gardiner's case, Judge Tobin) to remove the offender.
I think the real question is who are you going to turn to if your kid gets caught with 22 grams of pot in his car?

I bet if you check all the judicial apps (to the JNC) over the last 20 years that more than 70% have a recommendation from none other than David Bogenschutz.

I just want to say that I had a case before Judge Spechler and thought he was a great guy. He sent our case to arbitration before Rhonda Hollander and she was such a pleasure to deal with. I was lucky to be represented by Michael Hammaway such a gentleman.

Is it true Bogenschutz and Dutko represented Perlman and Raticoff against Aleman in the contempt proceeding before Aleman? So how could they then turn around and defend Aleman for the JQC when the main complaint was her handling of the DP case Perlman and Raticoff were trying when the contempt rulings were issued? Didn't Bogenschutz rep Jenne too? How can he rep defendants in BSO cases? Can they rep defendants before Gardiner now that they are involved in the sex with lawyers scandal? Is Broward the most immoral place on earth?
