CHANGE OF VENUE?

The jury selection process has begun in the Norris Gaynor homeless beating murder case.  Judge Imperato is currently on her second panel of fifty prospective jurors.  This one could go on for days.

The problem is twofold: finding jurors who can spend an estimated six weeks in trial (starting August 25), and finding jurors who have not been tainted by the intense media exposure generated by the "caught in the act" videotape.

Jurors come in one by one, and a large majority, even if they can serve six weeks, respond they will have a hard time remaining fair and impartial due to their pre-existing knowledge of the case.

No one can remember a single instance of a change of venue in Broward County, going back more than thirty-five years.  Will this be the first time?
