Sad day for those who lost their jobs but a happy day for those avoiding trial.

Does this mean that division Judges will now have to try their own residue cases. How long til the Judges come together and approach Satz about allowing breakdowns on these cases.

ROTATE THE JUDGES AND BRING BACK A DEGREE OF INTEGRITY TO THE BENCH IN BROWARD AS WELL AS INTO LINE WITH OTHER CIRCUITS IN THE STATE. JUDGES SHOULD TRY THEIR OWN CASES AND NOT RELY ON OTHERS. THIS WILL MEAN HOWEVER THAT THEY CAN'T LEAVE AT 2:00 PM.

The criminal judges don't leave early. The civil judges do a whole lot of nothing every afternoon. These judges should pick up the former trial pool cases. Won't happen though. Too much golf tennis and other entitlements to take advantage of.

see, ana, there is a positive side to getting moved to civil. now, you can brush up on your golf and/or tennis game (and maybe you can meet a nice guy there too!!!).

Not soon enough if you ask me. If judges did their own work instead of trying to shuffle their cases to retired judges and to each other, we wouldn't have needed a Criminal Case Management Unit in the first place. This doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out.
It was a waste of time and money to furnish staff for judges that if they knew what they were being paid for could do it easily without attempting to burden an already over burdened system with more bureaucrats to clog it up.
The one hour notice for trials was ridicules from the get go. If they want to run things efficiently, they should rotate the judges and stop this pandering to individual judges' comfort zones and follow the lead of the rest of the state.
Alas, Broward County is really behind the ball when it comes to managing their judicial resources.

You don't really want these civil judges messing with criminal matters. For those of you baby lawyers who are still blowing on your law degree diplomas to dry the ink...... We have Carney, the first ROC judge and former homicide asa., he's a real piece of work. "Defense are you ready"? State are we ready"? Mel Grossman, BEYOND BELIEF !! Then they have a asa's father over there on civil. He did a criminal trial and the P.D. moves to recuse him on the grounds that the two asa's who are trying the case are supervised by the judge's daughter. HAHAHA No conflict there right? He denies it. 4th says waist more money try it again. The crew we have is wanting but the civil side doing criminal work is horrific. We are due for a trial blitz soon, you will see.
