How can someone take this award seriously if they picked Howard? I am not one of the Alex fans on here before you flame this post. Howard has done a great job while PD. My questions only goes to how can someone get this ranking without having tried a case in years. It is almost insulting to the rest of these winners.
there's other things one can do to be effective in criminal defense other than taking a case to trial. I guess he strives to change the system and such. Or he makes waves at least. Or is the most vocal.

RESPONDENT’S SUPPLEMENT TO MOTION TO DISQUALIFY TUNIS
COMES NOW respondent Thompson and supplements his motion for disqualification of Referee Tunis as follows:
Tunis doesn’t understand what other judges with a sense of propriety and appearances do. Note: Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Jeri B. Cohen has before her a prominent case in which one of the litigants is Norman Braman. Braman gave her a campaign contribution. She has given it back. What is interesting is that Braman gave it to Cohen BEFORE she got the case. Note the below from today’s Miami Herald:
“Already, Cohen has made a few decisions: She'll return a $500 campaign contribution that Braman gave her before she got involved in the case, and she said she won't have contact with another supporter, Mayor Alvarez, until the trial is over.” http://www.miamiherald.com/news/miami_dade/story/594887.html
Contrast what Judge Cohen did with what Judge Tunis has done. Judge/Referee Tunis got campaign contributions from Bar Governor Ben Kuehne, Thompson’s first designated reviewer, from The Bar’s first prosecutor in this case, Barnaby Min, and from the law firm of Thompson’s second and current Bar designated reviewer, Steve Chaykin, AFTER Tunis got this case! The Kuehne and Min contributions were in the same amount on the same day!
How is it that Judge Cohen “gets” what Judge Tunis does not? Judge Tunis, for reasons that will eventually come to light, betrays by her refusal to recuse herself just how deeply she is invested in this prosecution. She refuses to produce, pursuant to a Public Records Law Request, her emails about Thompson. The undersigned knows why.
Tunis stopped being a fair judge in this matter quite sometime ago. She is now an advocate in the matter.
Any fair judge would have been horrified by the fact that she received monies from the three Bar operatives most interested in the outcome in this Bar matter. Any fair judge would have returned the money, upon being caught receiving it, or she would have recused herself. One or the other. All Tunis has accomplished in not doing either is assuring that she will be reversed in this matter, and her judicial career will be, appropriately, in a shambles, by her own hand.
I solemnly swear, under penalty of perjury, that the foregoing facts are true, correct, and complete, so help me God.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that I have provided the foregoing to The Bar in its Orlando office, to the JQC, and to “Judge” Tunis this July 6, 2008.

My super lawyer would be the guy that finally shuts up john thompson, he is like a fungus poisoning every blog with his own self aggrandizing histories, all perverted and ignoring the fact he was convicted 27 times of lying, deceit, dishonesty, misrepresentation, fraud, and corrupting the judicial system.

But don't worry Jacko, when the name super lawyers comes up, you won't find anything to talk about relating your name.
You are just going to be reduced to a small paragraph in the Florida Bar News and there won't be anything about Howard Stern, video games, Janet Reno, 2 Live Crew or Norm Kent. There will just be a story about how you set the record for the most counts a lawyer has been convicted for in a single sitting.

Berkowitz believed God spoke to him to kill. Belief is a powerful tool to the powerful who are really only tools of their own minds. It still doesn't prevent the damege they do and continue to do withintheir own fantastic fantasies.
The Canons require he DQ himself for only the basic appearance of impripriety--yet this had not phased him any more that the right to life of others phased Dahmer.

Funny you should mention that "Denial is just a river in Egypt", as Jacky Boy has been sailing that river for quite a while.
It's also funny that everthing you said actually best describes Jack.
She has been more fair to Thompson than Jack has ever been to her, since all he's been doing since the complaints about him were filed has been to find any loophole to get himself out of trouble.
Thompson should simply practice what he preaches about growing up and getting a life, since his immaturity is what got him in trouble to begin with.

Is this a joke, Finkelstein? Doesn't he go to Bogenschutz for legal advise. How does Finkelstein even compare to any of the other lawyers. Who put this list together? There is something wrong with the people that would include Finkelstein in the list of super lawyers. Looks like broward is just so totally corrupt, Finkelstein?
Finkelstein has done more for the community he works for than any of the others on the list. They are all super lawyers and deserve the award.
Finkelstein is not a super lawyer. His name should not be on the super lawyer criminal defense, this really must be a joke. He is the only one that doesn't deserve to be on that list, great work for the community doesn't make for great criminal defense lawyer, joke, joke joke.
Guess you've never seen him in trial, goof ball. But, I forgot, A-Turd: You don't take anything to trial. You're not a real litigator, just a go fetch it pawn!
Congratulations to the other SuperLawyers on the list. I know them well and they deserve it. But Finkelstein? That's ridiculous.
On another note, this is his first selection as a 'super lawyer' in his 25+ years of practicing law. And now that he is being challenged is when he is selected?

How come Arreaza (or Ostrow) didn't make the list?
I guesss Araezz or Ostrow didn't make the list because it more than likely was fixed, let me see I am going to hire a criminal lawyer for a murder case because he has done so much for the community, please finkelstein doesn't deserve to be on this list and everyone knows it. He would have to have michaselson do the work for him, help me michaelson.
Ostrow didn't make this list, but he did make the list of Super UFO Believers.
