Gold was there the whole trial. He's been a lawyer and a judge forever. Maybe he knows more about the facts of the case more than some reporters or an asa reacting to headlines?

The state always whines when the law is applied to benefit a defendant. Gold followed the law and the defendant has not hurt anyone. Tough noogies.

Anita White is one of the nicest people I know. Gold should have listened to her. It's pretty bad when judges here don't seem to get it.
Leave Anita White alone. She's a good ASA with integrity. It's Judge Gold who is the miscreant here and who should be removed from the bench and disbarred for his terrible judicial jurisprudence and complete lack of good judgment.
What does whether or not Anita White is nice have to do with the issues?

What is obvious is that no one has bothered to read the transcript linked to the CNN article. Why attack a judge who only disagreed with the prosecution as to the amount of the bond? Where in the transcript does the State say the defendant is a flight risk or a danger to the community? White did not dispute anything stated by Rossi except the amount of the bond. What would you be saying if the judge had simply agreed to the State's request for a $750,000 bond? Be honest.
Why did White wait until after the judge ruled to say that she wasn't "acquiesing" to a bond, whatever that means. Time to look at the conduct of the State Attorney's office instead of always pointing at judges.
Could this judge have messed it up any more? I doubt it.

He's one of the best and brightest we have. A great record with the 4th to boot. Too bad if maybe he snapped at you in court and hurt your feelings babies. He makes the gutsy calls and that means not being a shill for the state but following the law.

Marc Gold is not intelligent, lacks judicial temperament and is not qualified to be a judge. Mike Hursey, who the Governor just passed on, is highly qualified and maybe one day will get an appt.
Let's be honest, something many on here don't know how to do. The PD's Office and the defense bar like Gold because he is extremely defense-oriented, as this case well demonstrates. He gets reversed quite often by the 4th DCA, but that doesn't mean much considering most of the judges on the 4th DCA are intellectually dishonest anyway...starting with that as-hole Farmer.
My question is then answered: This judge is a dumb as he looks then? Needs a new job.

Christians handing out bibles in Muslim communities being threatened charges of hate crimes. USA is getting as bad. corrupt top to bottom
That's BS. Gold has an excellent record with the 4th, as does the other smart defense judge Lebow. Sorry to break it to you but following the law is ok, even when it breaks for the defendant.
I believe what the poster meant was that the perpetrator did not violate the terms of his bail (though it sounds like the bond agency didn't do it's job) thus he is following the bail rules and would normally stay out.
Labeling someone 'child molester' does not automatically suspend the legal system. It is kinda disturbing that the court of public opinion can potentially cause a judge to reverse a ruling like this. Judges should not be swayed by what the masses want.. their job is to uphold the law, and sometimes that does mean that bad people get treated better then we feel they should.
This is also what separates our legal system from lynch mobs or kangaroo courts... and why the implementation of laws is not a fully democratic process.
We can't simply say 'people have legal protection X, unless they have committed a flavor of the month crime in which case we just won't bother with the rules'
