Prominent South Florida lawyer and former Broward prosecutor Al Milian says he was arrested overnight after an accident he described as a "fender bender."

Reached on his cell phone this morning, Milian confirmed the arrest but said he and police disagree over whether he was driving drunk.

"We have a difference of opinion on that; that's all I'm going to say about it," he said. "I had an accident, and that's it."

The Broward Sheriff's Office says it plans to release details on the case soon.

Milian, who runs a law practice out of Coral Gables, did not provide details on the exact location of the accident, but said it was a fender bender that did not involve another vehicle.

After serving as prosecutor, Milian went on to defend law enforcement officials accused of wrongdoing and twice ran for Miami-Dade State Attorney.

Ian will not apologize for beating Avalos. It will never happen. You investigated his work history. You investigated his law practice. You had a good time making fun of him over last couple of months. A couple days after he file to run against Avalos, his home was broken into. You sent over 100,000 of your racist flyers. Ian might be humble. However, I had a great time helping him to beat you. Lesson learned never underestimate you opponent.
