NEVINS GETS THE GOODS

Confirmed: Avalos Takes Job At Tripp Scott
"Edward Pozzuoli, the director of the firm, ... said Avalos would be handling employment law and helping with complex commercial litigation...
Before becoming judge, she was an assistant state attorney, prosecuting murder and sex battery cases. She eventually was deputy chief of the county court division, helping to supervise and train new attorneys...
No wonder Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler and Tripp Scott, two of Broward’s most prestigious firms, were fighting over her."
Rothstein Hires Two Defeated Judges, But One Got Away
"(Rothstein) told Browardbeat.com that he has hired two of the three Broward judges defeated for election in August — former County Court Judge Julio Gonzalez Jr. and Circuit Judge Pedro Dijols.

Rothstein’s romance of former County Judge Catalina Avalos failed...
The rumor in legal circles say Avalos, also defeated in August, will instead be working at the Tripp Scott law firm...
Dijols, along with Gonzalez and Avalos, were targeted for defeat solely because they had Hispanic names.
It was a cynical ploy because they were fine jurists."

When Dijols was interviewed by Rothstein did he perform his Zeb Wright imitation like he did when Scherer requested during his JNC interview?
Maybe part of the job requirements will be for him to emcee the office's talent shows?
So much for diversity when a member of one minority group (a hispanic) believes it is proper to caricaturize another minority group!
If we condemned the use of the Frito Bandito because it was improper, then we should surely condemn in retrospect the Zeb Wright imitiation.
Does Nevins have access to the media archives to check this out or did he engage in deliberate ignorance?
Thanks Bill. Now go whine about Mike Satz.
who will be taking over pedro's docket?
Did Nevins ever sit in court and actually OBSERVE the "fine jurists" in action? I doubt it.
Another know nothing outsider who has no clue toeing the Republican party line.
Fine jurists? Only Julio.
Knock Buddy Nevins all you want but your glorious leader, Bill Gelin is constantly posting Nevin's blog's posts, BrowardBeat.com
A lot of jealousy because these fine jurist got jobs with Rothstein. Hummm, Sure is tough out there without those SPD appointments. And you clowns yukked it up, look who's laughing now. Pedro's with the prestigious Rothstein firm. Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it Bill.
Nevin's cronies are Bruce Rogow and Sam Fields. That is, the party of the old courthouse way... "never run against an incumbent" and that is also Nevin's agenda. He follows the word of Scherer as well and his articles are mere regurgitation's of Field's, Rogow and Scherer's opinions when it comes to Avolos, Dijols and Gonzalez. Sherer was outraged that anyone would run against an incumbent and so was Nevins.
Nevin's kisses up inorder to stay in their good graces and get inside info to blog about. And that is also why he kisses up to Rothstein.
One would think that Nevins would be openminded and look to see if the judge's with opponents earned it. But instead he says that they all got opponents b/c they were Hispanic. Period. No questions asked. It's Gospel. Ha. What about the family law judge who got an opponent? She wasn't Hispanic.
Nevins is a little minded man.
Talk about losing jobs -- ask our Buddy how and why he lost his job at the Sun-Sentinel?
I hear Buddy is following up on the fact that Julio left 40 defendants for over 60 days with no initial hearing. Interesting Bill and Finky have no outrage over such injustice
Listen Spud Bud: It's alright and downright good to run against a sitting judge in this county. These judges don't have a free pass for the rest of their careers. There are way too many fine people out there that would better serve Broward County than some of the entrenched pride and vainglorious attitudes we see raise their ugly heads way to often around here without mentioning any names.
Scherer and a few others are bent because business can't be conducted as usual without a little down time to break in a few more judges?
Hey, that's the way it goes. And I have a feeling Broward County is gonna see a few more "fine jurists" looking for work at Tripp Scott or Rothstein no matter what the front line dudes are preaching.
It's still allot tougher bringing in the bacon folks than it is peering down on litigants. Not that there are very many judges that would know that having come from state jobs.
That's a good one about Avalos and Tripp Scott not being avalable for comment over the weekend and the story about the one that got away from Rothstein, but it's not the story I heard.
Nothin like team play to keep the wheel greased.
Sam Fields against running against incumbents? That doesn't make sense. Sam is friends with Dale Ross and Dale Ross ran against Chris Roberts and lost. I would think Sam and his buddy Dale would be supportive of democracy since Dale is the one who set the example of lawyers running against bad judges.
After all the Levey Jingleheimer schmidt name issues I'm wondering if Aleman can be precluded from dropping the accent off her name in 2010.
The last time her name appeared without the accent and many an old Jewish biddy thought they were voting for that nice Jewish Cheryl Aleman (pronounced "Ail-Man").
Aleman has the accent on her judicial name plate and I bet on her personal documents. Can she drop it for the election?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Ross and Fields belong together, somewhere, I just don't know where. Anywhere but here.
ol sam sure plays the jew card when he is against gentiles in front of mob judges considering he so proudly espouses his atheism. pure, little man scum!!!!!!!!
i smell turd. go back to your hole.
because it didn't happen...thats why.
How many murders did Avalos try?
Avalos a fine jurist, joke of the day.
I play the Jew card? What does that mean?
I am an atheist and proud of it. I am not a magical thinker.
And why are you afraid to sign your nameI I am 63 years old and the last fight was in the ninth grade--1959. I promise not to bedat you up.
Good luck, but no one is beating Aleman.
You're not much of a thinker at all Sam. And you certainly don't have a magic touch as you have numerously demonstrated.
Just another smoozer! Never could try his way out of a wet paper bag. Some said better at theory. More like just a would be and want to be influence peddler. HARK, OH YEA MEDIOCRE.
Maybe it had more to do with Avalos' darkening of her judicial opposition's photo in her flier than meets the eye.
This was really the wrong time to be pulling this kind of trick, even by Broward standards.
Yes it is funny how Buddy won't acknowledge the racism employed with the Richards photo darkening trick. That's all you need to know.
If it is all in caps then accents are not used in spanish. It is improper spanish to use accents on all caps. SO I guess it depends.
Bill, obviously you heard wrong.
Was it the right time when Mike Kaplan did it to Perry Thurston?
Why did Richards hide from white voters? He didn't even go to meet with the Scum-Sentinel editorial Board.
Richards did not meet the bias and prejudice Scum-Sentinel because they already had their mind made up to choose Avalos. If you know, they made up their minds already. Would you go? What sense does that make?
Richards meet many voters.
He just did not do what you wanted and for this you are upset. Go figure
Buddy Nevins should run for Judge. He is a fired Scum-Sentinel reporter that is not one side and looks at all points of view. He would make a fine addition to the Broward judiciary.
