So, who will he run against anyway? Why not run against Pratt? She seems to be an easy target these days.
Mickey is one of the nicest defense attorneys. He is always polite and when he comes into court he brightens up the mood. Although he files a lot of motions, which can get annoying- he has never been unprofessional. I think he would make an excellent County Court Judge. He also loves teaching law school and I think a good teaching judge is an asset for all the new PDs and ASAs fresh out of law school. He sure has my vote!

You must still be in county court. Mickey would be a nightmare to practice in front of. Nice guy, but very much one-sided. The State wouldn't have a chance with him on the bench.
Mickey is a great guy. I think he would be great for county court. I think he would be a great teacher for all the young ASA and PD. I couldnt agree more. I hope you pick a good opponent and not just run against someone because of their name. I think too highly of you to do that Mickey- but then again, I thought higher of Bober too and was surprised. Pick someone you think needs to be replaced, please dont base it on a hipanic name.

He's got to be one of the smartest guys in town (just ask one of the prosecutors he beat in trial back when he used to try murders).

Agree that Mickey is a VERY nice guy and really cares about his clients .... but he's kind of lightweight flaky too. I'd be fine with Mickey on the county bench, but not on circuit court.

Anyway, if it did happen I'm sure it would be by some "overzealous person not connected to the campaign who the candidate has no contriol over".

...it's impossible not to have a smile on your face after being in the same room with the guy for even a minute! I can't think of anyone more respectful to everyone they meet.
As a law student I was able to spend some time with Mickey in his office and in trial.
Don't be fooled, there is a method to his madness. He has a razor sharp mind and knows exactly what he's doing.
The best part, politically he doesn't owe anybody anything.
Mickey is a good guy, a good lawyer, and would make a much better judge than of the current County Court bench. Run him against Ireland if she doesn't retire.
Now the sitting judges up for election will do their part in picking you apart Mickey. You are done before you have started. Oh well when will Team Kulik learn. It is nice to have you in race. However, I wish you all could keep your mouths shut.

*GASP* I LOVE Mickey!!! I can be having the absolute worst day and when Mickey comes in the courtroom, he just lights the whole place up!! I'm sure if anyone tried to pick him apart, pretty much the whole courthouse would rally around him. It's always a good day when you see Mickey.

It's not pretentious. It's respect for the OFFICE, for the court as an institution, not for the person who happens to be wearing the robe. As they say in the military, salute the uniform, not the man.
a rubberstamp for the state attorneys in some divisions like 80% of the judges in the courthouse. He is not an arrogant P*R-I-@-K, like some of the judges on floors 4-6, and he is never rude. Mickey is a nice guy and may well be a good judge. But it's less than good judgement for Mickey not to announce an intended candidacy himself and present it in his own way.

A qualified candidate doesn't need the Cool Lick. Cool Lick is a wanna-be judge maker who wants lickers. If Mickey is not a Cool Lick licker, it must be that wanna-be judges are attracted to wanna-be judge makers.
Right on! Now let see who writes the checks to support him or is it just hot air as always from Kulik. I think he should not have said nothing until the time is right and just go for it.
