AND THEY'RE OFF!

 Attorney/Professor Mickey Rocque

Kevin Kulik is proud to present the first announced candidate for the next election cycle.

The one and only Mickey Rocque will square off against a sitting judge in 2010.

Good luck to Mickey.  We can't think of a more qualified or conscientious candidate to serve Broward County.

Dammit Kulik. You promised I could be the first candidate from your stable for 2010. You told me of all the folks you were talking to, I was the most qualified.

And you pick this guy over me?

Mickey is one of the nicest defense attorneys. He is always polite and when he comes into court he brightens up the mood. Although he files a lot of motions, which can get annoying- he has never been unprofessional. I think he would make an excellent County Court Judge. He also loves teaching law school and I think a good teaching judge is an asset for all the new PDs and ASAs fresh out of law school. He sure has my vote!

You must still be in county court. Mickey would be a nightmare to practice in front of. Nice guy, but very much one-sided. The State wouldn't have a chance with him on the bench.

Mickey is a great guy. I think he would be great for county court. I think he would be a great teacher for all the young ASA and PD. I couldnt agree more. I hope you pick a good opponent and not just run against someone because of their name. I think too highly of you to do that Mickey- but then again, I thought higher of Bober too and was surprised. Pick someone you think needs to be replaced, please dont base it on a hipanic name.
    GO MICKEY GO!!!

Eric don't know jack, I mean Mick.

You are probably another ASA or Judge who fell for the dopey guy routine who proceeded to give Mickey everything he wanted. I guess you've never overheard him in the hallway talking for real with his clients.

He's got to be one of the smartest guys in town (just ask one of the prosecutors he beat in trial back when he used to try murders).

I am sure he will actually read the motions and case law prior to each hearing. He will know the law. He will never grant favors in return for favors. He will treat everyone with respect. He will follow the "home is your castle" doctrine when these stupid LEO(s) try and break into people's homes.

    Good luck Mickey.

You mean one of our Honorable Judges would stoop to a lowdown dirty dishonest campaign trick?

Anyway, if it did happen I'm sure it would be by some "overzealous person not connected to the campaign who the candidate has no contriol over".

It's not pretentious. It's respect for the OFFICE, for the court as an institution, not for the person who happens to be wearing the robe. As they say in the military, salute the uniform, not the man.

JAABLOG : " KULIK IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE FIRST ANNOUNCED CANDIDATE ... MICKEY ROCQUE "

Mickey is a nice guy and may well be a good judge. But it's less than good judgement for Mickey not to announce an intended candidacy himself and present it in his own way.

(KULIK PRESENTS) Is this Mickey's way to present his candidacy?

A qualified candidate doesn't need the Cool Lick. Cool Lick is a wanna-be judge maker who wants lickers. If Mickey is not a Cool Lick licker, it must be that wanna-be judges are attracted to wanna-be judge makers.
