Actually, the Emerald Society of Fort Lauderdale had an excellent annual breakfast again this weekend. Even in this tough economy and with no elections this year, there was a great turnout. Significant money was raised to give scholarships to worthy students in Broward County.
And in case you had any interest in what actually occurred, Ahearn wasn't giving out plaques to anyone, nor did he introduce any of the honorees. He is this year's Society President -- giving something back to the community -- far more than what you typical bloggers are doing.
I attended and saw Mr. Ahern. I didn't see him announce anyone or anything.
He seemed quite gracious and welcoming.

A-Turd the political adviser. That's a laugh. Without Judy Stern he's lost, and she doesn't want anything to do with the guy. And as far as what he's given back to the community, that's the biggest laugh of all. He only cuddles up to those that can give him something and those are in short supply these days. Given the judges that attended, it was easy to see why they were there. They're up in 2010 and looking a bit nervous about their chances. Keep writing about yourself A-Turd. You're a real keeper.

Anyone else notice Judge Stacy Ross not working yesterday? Looks like she had more important things to do than administer justice to the poor minorities wallowing in our jails. She took the morning off to be at a political event (JQC maybe?)
