Today's story involves a police officer crashing into an illegally stopped car. It could have happened to anyone.
The owner of the car turns out to be, let's say, woozy, and roadsides ensue.
Here's where it gets interesting - the officers are clearly heard on video conspiring to cover up the crash and dummy up the reports.

The SAO has been alerted to the situation. They reportedly wanted it kept very quiet, to give the Internal Affairs folks a chance to investigate. Whatever. The PD is all over this one, so it's safe to say that Howard and company will do what the SAO typically won't in Broward - ensure equal justice under the law for all offenders.

Hollywood cops are the most corrupt of them all. You should see the probable cause affidavit where they say my two clients, brothers, beat themselves up so badly they both needed emergency room attention. They actually write that they beat themselves up, seperately, while in their custody, to try to get the cops in trouble.

Interesting that the story comes out 5 months after the arrest. Who picked it up and why didn't the SAO pick up on the details of the video months ago? Don't they watch them to determine whether to prosecute? This situation speaks to the police mentality and behaviour. That is what needs to be addressed.
No, the videos are not watched prior to the case filing decision. In fact, the videos are never ordered until right before trial. Guess relying on the police reports cant be trusted anymore with HWPD. Sucks that as in everything, the dirty few ruin the reputation of the group. Or at least i hope its only a few.

The police wrote a report and we know that whenever an officer writes something down in a report that is the gospel truth as to what happened at the scene.
Don't believe what you hear. It could be fake. Go with the report.
So basically the LEOs and CSA get caught up in the dirty dirty over something that would have turned out to be a written reprimand and in-house driving school for the officer at worse.

You people are so quick to put us down. When you need us we are the most important people in the world but when you don't need us you constatly look for a reason to burn us. Sometimes reality is bent a little to help protect CITIZENS and put down CRIMINALS. Please don't forget that this innocent girl was driving at twice the leagal limit with a cat in her lap. Luckily a cop hit her before she hit one of your loved ones and killed them. Maybe some of you can't handle the truth and reality of life from your cubicles. That's why you have people like us. We deal with the worst of society everyday so that you can listen to your cd's and drink your coffee on the way to work and not have to worry. You are home for dinner everynight with your loved ones and there with them on the holidays... we are not. We don't go out looking for arrests for quotas and if you end up in cuffs it's because of your own doing. If we wanted to be liked by society we would have become firemen and get paid to sleep on duty. You think that the SA's office tries to protect us? They try to burn us and mess with us more than defense attorneys and the public defenders office could ever do. Just remember we as cops are alone in this world. No one likes us, no one understands us, and NO ONE has to go through what we go through or see what we have to see every day and night. We are the sheep-dogs you have hired to protect the flock from the wolves. How many of you see dead bodies every week? How many of you have to have a gun and a bullet proof vest just to go to work? How many of you have co-workers and friends die in front of you? How many of you have your death encouraged by music videos and songs? Please give me your name and what department you work for. If you are willing to bend the facts to suit what you think should be done then you have express a willingness to lie. Shame on you. I used to work in law enforcement and married to a LEO. You all get off on the power and think you are above the law. You justify it by saying that you are better than the criminals you arrest but when engaged in activity such as these officers, you are no better, in fact you are worse! You should be held to a higher standard. I have seen 1st hand the cover ups. I am shocked and amazed at what is over looked. The SAO is right there beside you. They may have a love/hate relationship with you but its still a relationship that requires back scratching on both ends. As for your comment about firemen, pathetic. I know just as many cops that park under a tree and take nap or are in their recliners while on duty. There is no reason to bend reality except to break the law and lie. This case is proof of that. There was no reason for Officer Save-the-Day to lie other than to try and make himself look like the hero. She had already hung herself. Get off that pedestal you put yourself and your profession on and don't get back on it until you have HONOR and INTEGRITY!

Satz will do his very best to protect corrput police officers from the corrupt City of Hollywood. He forced the prosecution of Donald Baker after his assistant, Brad Edwards, et al., informed him that Hollywood had falsified and altered surveillance video evidence. "Go ahead and prosecute the innocent guy; he'll only serve about 5 years of his life." RIGHT, SATZ! RIGHT!!!

Judges are often times either corrupt, afraid, or just totally ignorant. Judge Michael Gates was advised by video expert David Bawarsky that the City of Hollywood had altered and falsified video evidence. Judge Gates well knew that the state was prosecuting an innocent man, and Gates did every act of judicial misconduct to allow the state to continue the malicious prosecution, then, Judge Michael Gates, intentionally sentenced an innocent man to serve 60 months in the state penitentiary. On habeas (Rule 3.850), Gates allowed the Public Defender to "lose her file on this case"; he allowed the State, Scott Raft, to falsely represent that the state had lost its copy of the Brady video altered and falsified by the city of Hollywood, and, then, granted the State's motion in limine to exclude all consideration of the falsified video, because "there was a break in the chain of custody." This was the case where Mr. Finkelstein's assistant Madeeleine Torres, was set upon the defense of this felony case (BATTERY ON 2 LEO's, et al, etc.)in the absence of any criminal felony trial experience and after less than two years as a member of the Bar. Gates allowed her to perjure her testimony against her own client at the habeas(3.850) hearing, and allowed the state to offer freedom in exchange for the renouncement of the truth by the defendant and a withdrawal of his habeas action. "Renounce the truth and you can have your freedom." HEY!! JUDGE GATES!! What country were you raised in? Where did you get your judicial ethic? From the Hollywood Police Department; that totally corrupt organization down around Hollywood Blvd and Park road? Just resign, Judge. Save the Court that embarrassment, please.

Just to show you how much the State Attorney will do to protect corrput cops and a corrupt police force, and, in fact, a corrput city.
Finkelstein summoned Ch. 7 to do a story on the alteration and falsifiecation of evidence in the Donald Baker Case, where a surveillance video captured two cops attempting to murder Baker by smashing his face and head into a concrete floor, over and over and over and over, and over and over, until one BSO Deputy got really scared and retreated back down the hallway at the detention area at the H'wd police department to guard the entrance door so that noone would catch the ultimate killing of Baker. How did these corrput officer's cover it up? lied in their reports, altered and falsified the video evidence; destroyed video evidence, and had Internal Affairs perfect a specious IA investigation to get Baker (Under Miranda Warnings), admit that he touched an officer by blocking a punch to his face. Then, the video was sent to the statee attorney in 72 hour format, meaning that a 2-hour VHS video captures 72 hours of activity. Neither superman nor ASA Brad Edwards could make anything of the video. Edwards testified that he viedwe the video 55 times and could make nothing of it. STILL, Satzy allowed that false and altered video to be used in this prosecution and allowed Judge Gates to sentence an innocent man to serve 60 months in the state prison. Oh, KMA, dickhead COP. It is COPS like you that know of other corrupt cops and do nothing. So, don't try to put the public on the defensive using falacies of logic; dirty cops are dirty cops. You might be one of the good guys, so prove it. Be warned, though, when former Chiefs down there in Hollywood tried to clean up the force, they were fired. Your comments about the girl driving under twice the legal limit...RIGHT. We are going to believe that, just as we can rely on video surveillance (altered and falsified by Hollywood PD.) Your logic is about as keen as Tony Rhodes, who relied on the falsified video and the perjurious police statements to conclude that Baker got everything he deserved. So, again, KMA, dickhead. Take you logic back to the HPD where you will be in good company: the girl had a cat on her lap, so she is guilty....

And if you need any further proof of the corruption down there, just ask: I'll provide you with the testimony and other exhibits of Internal Affairs where they used a specious IA inquiry as a ploy to circumvent Miranda warnings, and where they refused to even address the falsified video issue after it was squarely put before them. Then they provided Satzy a pleasant report of what Baker said even before the ink was dry on his signature. So, please, don't take the citizenry for idiots. And, it is no wonder that the Public Defender gives you no problems. The Record in the Baker case proves that assistant public defender Madeleine Torres perjured her testimony against her own client, Baker, in order to save her own skin and to protect the Public Defender's Office from malpractice litigation. However, I have counsel's recording advising that Mr. Finkelstein admitted malpractice, and Torres admitted malpractice on the day before she took the stand and committed her acts of trechery against her own client.
