DRINKS ON THE HOUSE?

A source just told JAABLOG that the occupants of the Bentley had indeed been at lunch at Bova Restaurant earlier in the day before the crash.  Drinks were consumed, again according to the source.

The source said Adderley was not there, but Rothstein was.

The issue with Adderley, of course, can be easily solved.  Did he speak with Rothstein or anyone connected to him before turning up at the scene?  Cell phone records could clear this up.  The FLPD is refusing to give them up, while Rothstein's are probably already in the hands of the Feds.

Will anyone bother to go to Bova to interview potential witnesses to confirm our source's statements about the booze?  Are credit card records in existence, or was the meal on the house for Rothstein's friends?

Stay tuned.  Hopefully the Feds will get involved, since it's unlikely anyone from Broward will want this one investigated.

Moral of the story: If you drive a Bentley and supply cigars to Rothstein and eat at his restaurant, you are entitled to receive the direct attention of the Chief of Police of FLPD and Rothstein himself should you get a flat tire.

It's sort of like the American Automobile Association full protection plan.

Can you imagine if this had been anyone else involved what would have happened?

The employees at the restaurant should be interviewed if you want to get to the bottom of this. The problem is nobody will look into in properly because it involves the chief of police at FLPD.

Why on't FLPD release Adderley's phone records if he's got nothing to hide? Why else would he have been there? How simple does it have to get?

FLPD does not have the phone records. They give Adderly a monthly stipend to pay for his own personal cell phone bill.

So why won't Scotty Boy roll over on Adderley if this was a hook-up?

If he can save even 5 minutes in prison he'll do Adderley in over the free DUI.

My point - if they weren't drunk and the Chief didn't interfere improperly, you won't hear any more abnout this.

If Adderley goes down then I think its safe to say Scotty gets out a year earlier - circa 2039.

It's more like any of the other cities where the Feds have gone in and cleaned up the corrupt cesspool that also happens to be the local police dept., the state atty's office, some judges, commissioners...etc. Thankfully the Feds are in town because we know Satz never prosecutes police abuse, or police corruption. He just turns a blind eye or some line prosecutor writes a closeout memo on how the likelihood of conviction is low. That is until years later when after several instances the officer who has been molesting women while on duty for
years gets mm probation. Oh wait that was officer Grady. It's sickening when you work somewhere and those in charge of enforcing the law (the police) systematically break the law. But they suffer no consequences because the local prosecutor gives them the old pat on the back.

If the FBI really have Rothstein's cell records, why would Adderley be stonewalling? It seems like the old addage may come true yet again "the cover up may be worse than the crime." Why not categorically say yes I spoke to him or no he never called me? The government will find out anyway so why dig a hole?

Aside from this Rothstein being nothing more than a common thief, I can't understand why the Pulp attempts to glamorize his meteoric rise and fall with such obsessive devotion.

Just report the news without all the hype, Bob. Your style isn't that great.

Rothstein is just another pig-headed moron that found his niche in Broward County along with all the others, as evidenced by his flight from justice to a place like Morocco.

His childhood remembrance of the movie "Casablanca" no doubt played a large part in his choice of destinations as he fled reality yet again for a time.

That and a copy of Ali Babba and the 40 Thieves should get him 40 years of well earned hard time.

He was never anything more than an emotionally retarded toad with a law degree looking for some sort of stardom. Leaving NY he found it right here in Broward County, a fertile ground for corruption, where so many of the out of towners flock to ply their trades in like scam deals.

The only difference is we have so many corrupt local officials here, it was even easier than he ever expected.

And when you say we're a quarter of way through the corruption in Broward, you had better recalculate your estimate.

This town is chock full of the most incomprehensible concoction of thieves imaginable.

This newest revelation is but the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

No Ireland is not corrupt 9:41 is a state attorney who must have lost a case in there and can't get over it.

The BIG question isn't what judges do with the case it's why the state attorney doesn't treat like cases alike. Aderley's involvement doesn't explain why the State Attorney didn't act on the license charge. Did Satz know Rothstein?
