JAABCAM BONUS: ROBING CEREMONY

1.) FLPD Chief Frank Adderley thinks it's Bob Norman behind the camera. After 2.) Judy Stern told him it was only JAABLOG, he was nice enough to come over and chat for awhile. Like everyone says, he's a very gregarious guy. Who knows? He probably would have given us his cellphone number, if we'd asked; 3.) "Iron Mike" Satz surveys his kingdom; 4.) This FLPD cruiser parked in a clearly marked no parking zone, many months ago. Brady Notices were never sent out, but we're going to get to the bottom of it.
Today's Robing Ceremony was a major snooze fest. The usual pomp and circumstance accompanied the introduction of the judges in attendance. The speeches were mercifully short. The whole thing seems like just another networking event, although it must be fun for the proud family members.
Ken Keechl gave a plug for the new courthouse, adding he hoped the County Commission would go along with the non-voted debt scheme. Chief Judge Tobin was the MC. Barbara McCarthy was introduced by Paul Lopez, Carlos Rodriguez by C. William Laystrom, David Haimes by AUSA Tony Gonzalez, Michael Usan by Jose Izquierdo, and Edward Merrigan, Jr. by Tamara Rimes Merrigan.
Federal judges Dimitrouleas and Zloch were in attendance, in support of David Haimes. Judges Dale Ross and Ana Gardiner were no shows, even though they used to reportedly really love these things. Jay Spechler was there too, unmolested by Tobin's goons. Jack Seiler and Sheriff Lamberti stopped by, as well as a lot of other influential behind the scenes people we didn't recognize.
We missed the speeches by McCarthy and Rodriguez. About the only thing we learned from the others is that David Haimes has a lot of kids. Unfortunately, there were no swipes at bloggers or the recent contested judicial election phenomenon.

The Magical World of M.C. Escher - January 20 - April 11, 2010 - Boca Raton Museum of Art
"Looking for a different album cover idea, Mick wrote in January (1969) to the painter, M.C. Escher: "Dear Maurits, For quite a time now I have had in my possession your book and it never ceases to amaze me ... In fact I think your work is quite incredible and it would make me very happy for a lot more people to see and know and understand exactly what you are doing ... Would you please consider ... designing a 'picture' for (our next album cover)?"
A reply from Escher to the Stones said: " ...My answer ... must be no ... By the way, please tell Mr. Jagger I am not Maurits to him, but very sincerely, [signed] M.C. Escher."

CABA 2010 Installation Gala Saturday - don't miss the Debutante Ball!

Did you not hear Judge Merrigan and his wife give the best remarks?
You forgot to mention he was also robed.
What was Spechler doing there, or need we ask?
the BSO car photo is classic. very funny.
Ok so was Judge McCarthy's (former) Campaign Treasurer, Manager and Mentor - Stuart Rosenfeldt (formerly of the ROTHSTEIN Rosenfeldt Adler firm) present?
Wonder how it will play when she gets an opponent and people ask about the alleged felon that was running her campaign?
Mike looks thin. Is he worried about something?
usual jaab merrigan bias... you could have mentioned all the army soldiers there to support merrigan. Come on Bill are you anti american like golburgh as well?
Dear Micheal Satz.
Can't now body beat you like Jesus.
Can't now body beat you like the Lord.
Amen. Uhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm How much do he weigh now. who the smallest Jenne or Satz.
Judy Stern was there for the brownies and maybe to pick up some tips on how to network.
Where was her Partner in Grime A-Turd? I always thought they were an item.
goldburgh is un-american for participating in democracy? good one ahearn.
A far cry from Aleman thanking God and her hairdresser for her appointment to the bench. Very sedate.
no mention of ed merrigan cause, frankly, no one has a clue who he is.
I suspect even less of a clue soon.
You forgot to mention Sprinkles was bouncing his ball down the hallway to anyone who would give him the time. Most were scatering before he got to them.
Aherd has been hold up in his hole except for nights out in Wilton Manors.
Is it just me or does Mike look more and more like the Grim Reaper every day?
Are you really that stupid? A picture of a police car in a no parking zone excites you? Do you know why the officer was there? In the future when you call for help because you can't handle the problem that you probably created, the officer will drive around the block several times to find a vacant spot before helping you.
high five
There were several judges notably absent during the robing ceremony. I wonder why when it used to be nothing but a mutual adoration fest. Ross and Gardiner were two of them not there.
Just curious.....Was the ADJ there? Did he sit next to Porter? Did Laura come also?
No Seidman was not there but we know since Bill's client got his 180 day sentence cut down to time served Lee Seidman and now his wife Laura get no mention on here
Nevins didn't mention Trachman's opponent. Only Luzzo. Why?
because lee jay only has one woman who would help him out and she is running against porter
I wonder how much the ceremony cost the taxppayers. All of those judges sitting around doing nothing for 3 hours except eating. This was all during the middle of the day when ordinary citizens are working. Why isn't this thing held at night? Is this why we need a new courthouse, so judges can congratulate themselves in grander fashion at the taxpayer's expense?
@ 10:32 aka the Adj
You are relentless little man.
don't be stupid. judges don't work on friday anyway.
Candy fest for those that didn't receive enough attention when they were little. Excuse me. Some are still little.
Stern is the last of an old breed of condo schmosers. Now that she's dumped fatboy, she might be able to stay in the game longer but pickens are at an all time low.
