I saw it. What a crock! What was that, the world's worst video of a confrontation with cops by a career dirtbag? Celeste, the stuff you gave channel 7 stinks. You're making your boss look bad, and don't forget, he works for channel 7.
It's not about the video, it's about the independent witness who was standing in the video and who called 911 four times. You don't need a clear video to recognize a beatdown. These cops just got pissed and decided to unload. Too bad they forgot to look around for cameras.

Here is the real deal of what will happen. Depos via DepoTek will be taking by Celine. The cops will all stick to their stories, but a few real good points she can pick up on and run with for the trial will come out. However, come trial time, she will not have a depo transcript. The cops will alltestify, but maybe mix a few details up. When she goes to impeach, the jury gets bored because it is taking 10 minutes and then they can't hear it anyways. DEPOTEK SUCKS.

Gee, seems like our ace reporter forgot to mention the angel's 23 prior arrests, or his reputation as a violent drunk. The cops are out there every night hauling off the trash while lawyers are hiding in their gated communities sipping latte. Then they put on their suits and come to court every day and criticize those who provide the blanket of safety that they sleep in every night. Brilliant!

BSO and FTL cops have a number of violent criminals on the force. I just wonder when the powers to be will get serious about raining in these punks.
Upon review of the evidence, since the defendant has a bunch of priors and since the independent eye witness' testimony conflicts with the 4 police officers, there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction, therefore we decline to prosecute the police officers. However, we will proceed against the defendant because we believe in a double standard, one for the police and one for the poor schmucks to decide to take their face and smash it into a cops fist. And besides, this is like a football game, unless we see indisputable evidence to the contrary, we go with the police.
Boy, Satz must be pissed. He holds his first press conference in 100 years and is scooped by some deputies who forgot to smile for the cameras. Did Satz ever hold that press conference?
Lamberti is trying to take the heat off his cops by shifting blame to Finkelstein. That's just lame. Lamberti insists the tape should have been turned over the BSO for investigation or given to the judge. Well, Al, you've got the tape now as does the judge, so go investigate. First have IA go out and scare the crap out of the independent eye witness. Then release all the dirt you can find on the defendant to make him out as a real loser. Then release all the commendations you stuff in the cops personnel files, and then, since the video isn't clear and there's only one witness versus your 4 cops, you can sweep this under the rug like all the rest, except when you have no choice.

Hey Sleazy Shot. Why don't you file that bar complaint so you can look like the idiot you really are. A defense attorney who comes across a video tape has the right to release it to whomever he pleases. Lamberti claiming he's blindsided. Give me a break. From what I heard in court on Friday, the minute BSO's IA heard about the video tape, they rushed right over to the jail to "attempt" to have a "conversation" with the defendant. Of course they didn't bother to tell the defendant's attorney. If an attorney did that, then that would be a bar complaint. But cops at IA are not attorneys so they play by a totally different set of rules. All you cop lovers out there, don't forget it's not the video tape that's so damning, it's the independent eye witness that you can see in the video tape and contradicts everything the cops are saying. I'm confident these cops will skate this time because the video quality isn't good enough to convict the cops. Plus Satzie won't file on anything except when he has no choice. But with all the video surveillance around and accidental recordings on a cop's dash-cam (Hollywood), it's just a matter of time before we see a typical police beat down clear enough for an NFL referee to reverse the call on the field.

If you are a lawyer then you have a ethical duty to report it or you are in violation of bar rules. However be careful because when they find that your allegations are not unethical then you too may be sanctioned. It is the duty of every defense attorney to zelously represent their clients. It seems to me the use of eyewitness testimony along with a video to support that testimony is not only zelous but necessary. Just an aside once the tape is turned over to IA it would never see the light of day because the police and state would claim an ongoing investigaton privlidge. The PD did exactly the right thing. Anything else would be violation of her ethical duty.
It is the duty of every defense attorney to zelously represent their clients.

Yeah, thanks Howard. Releasing that useless video was sleazy. Giving it to channel 7, where you collect an extra pay check, is even sleazier. Doing it after hours with channel 7 agreeing to run it right away was the sleaziest.
