Pistol Packin' Ilona Holmes Did police mess with the wrong African-American female?

We're told Channel Six is getting ready to break a big story at 11:00 PM. A BSO team reportedly got mixed up while trying to locate a fugitive, resulting in an unwelcome intrusion into a Holmes family holiday celebration. Guns were reportedly drawn, and tempers flared. None of this can be verified at this point in time, so set your DVRs to tape Channel Six News at 11:00 PM to see if we've got it right.
*UPDATE* - It's true. This one was kept super quiet, believed to be exclusive to the South Florida Times (SFT), who gave it to their broadcast partner Channel Six to break. Expect in-depth follow-up from SFT, and hopefully a link to the video.
Reporter Jeff Burnside mentioned that Holmes has no comment, but has hired Kendall Coffey to represent her. The whole thing went down at her sister's house, with police accusing her brother-in-law of being a burglar. Holmes came out holding her own gun, identifying herself as a circuit court judge. Burnside's best line mentioned how Holmes "saw justice from a whole new perspective".
Our sources tell us things might have gotten even uglier when BSO personnel returned after the incident, to talk to Holmes about how she handled herself during the encounter. Again, no confirmation is possible at this point in time, but if true, it looks like BSO might have made a bad blunder a thousand times worse.

"They said, ‘Come out with your hands up!’ She said, ‘I am Circuit Court Judge Ilona Holmes. I am armed.'"
They all slowly went out through a side door. “She was putting the gun down. They yelled, ‘put the gun down! Put the gun down!’ Right there, the cop had his gun pointed at her.”
Judge Holmes, surrounded by deputies with guns drawn, slowly put the gun on the grass, announcing it as she went. She was holding a cell phone in the other hand. When she began to place that on the ground, police began yelling.
"When she went to put that down, they yelled, ‘Get away from the gun!’ She said ‘everybody calm down. I'm putting my cell phone down’." ...

wow, I would never expect members of the judiciary to jump to conclusions and accuse anyone without knowing all the facts. I mean, what city is the home located in( I do know) isn't that city a majority of African Americans? Let's get the 911 tape and listen to what the caller(s) stated, or read the report. Oh, why bother the Judge can just reach out to her close friend, the sheriff, oh yea, that's right he's a felon now...,no worries, she can reach out to her good friend the chief circuit court judge, oh that's right she's not there anymore, uuhhhmmmmm, maybe shoudda just been respectful, oh yea, don't know how!
She can't reach out to her close friend Ana Gardiner that's for sure, or at least she shouldn't.
Ilona has seen the real world now she should quit and become a civil rights lawyer and do some good for the community.

Talk about special treatment for members of the judiciary. It would have been interesting to see how the grand jury would have dealt with this if it had gone tragically wrong.
Holmes has always had a bad attitude. Probably a little tanked up on easter juice and full of herself as usual. Surprised she didn't get taken to the ground real fast.
What does she need a lawyer for anyway; she being charged with something other than for having a big mouth?

So the way I understand it is that the story was leaked to a black community newspaper? What's that about? The judicial spin is already at work here in Broward. She was obviously out in the back yard looking for Easter eggs.

Police officers in the administration of their lawful duty have the right to order a potential suspect to the ground whether they are a circuit court judge or not. Especially one holding a gun.

Judge Holmes handled it very professionally. I think she should be commended on the way this went down. It's could have had a tragic ending if Judge Holmes had not been there and done what she did. I don't understand all the criticism.
I think the cops in this town are out of control.
After seeing the video it's pretty scary. How would you like to see a bunch of cops with guns drawn outside your kitchen window. I agree. I think Judge Holmes handled herself pretty well under the circumstances. Were the cops in uniform?
Holmes was just acting out a fantasy she's had for a long time. Show off. She's lucky she wasn't hurt.
AT THIS POINT HOLMES WILL CONSULT GARDINER TO COME UP WITH A STORY CONSISTENT WITH A TOTALLY UNREALISTIC VERSION SUPPORTING HER ACTIONS.
SHE SHOULD BE CHARGED AND RUN THROUGH THE SYSTEM LIKE ANY OTHER PERSON.

She was still trying to tell everybody what to do. I can see the problem. I'd say she is very fortunate it didn't go bad but for the most part she handled it well. I can just imagine what a bunch of cowboy cops thought when they say a black woman with a gun.

I like this ignorant post. It helps prove the fact that whites expect cops to kill blacks.
I wish the cops would push. First they would have to explain why they were at the wrong address. Second, why they are pointing guns through a window at a man washing dishes. Third, why they weren't in uniform going onto someones private property. Yeah, go ahead and push it.
