BALL OF CONFUSION
A quick update on the status of the 893 Motions in Broward.
Michael Usan has already heard preliminary arguments on a few cases. He has yet to rule. Marty Bidwill will hold a hearing Tuesday morning, also on a handful of cases. Tom Lynch will hold a mass hearing on October 5th, at 2:30 p.m. Other judges may have set dates, but we haven't heard. In the meantime, lawyers are busy filing Motions, while others are waiting to see how the initial rulings shake out.
Supervising ASA Paul Valcore is handling the upcoming arguments for the SAO, partially relying on this August 11th order by a Middle District Federal Judge in Jacksonville. That's right, one of Mary Scriven's colleagues has seemingly contradicted her ruling in Shelton, further confusing the matter until the appellate courts can sort the whole mess out.

Funny thing about being a judge. Telling the truth can get them in trouble, even though they stand for truth and justice.
Point in fact: the Shelton motions are a tremendous waste of trees. The Judge is correct, even if he shouldn't have said it for fear of appearing biased.
