The following six names have reportedly been forwarded by the JNC for Rick Scott's consideration to replace circuit judge Dave Krathen:

Liz Scherer, Abbe Rifkin, Randi Boven, Giuseppina Miranda, Charles Morehead, and John Fry.

Interviews were held today, with each and every applicant granted an interview.

Regarding January judicial assignments, we're now being told Marc Gold will replace Tom Lynch (Lynch to replace Richard Eade); Mike Rothschild to replace Sandy Perlman, and Julio Gonzalez to replace Carlos Rebollo, if Gonzalez prevails over Laura Watson come November. Rumor has it Lynn Rosenthal isn't looking to go criminal, so the November election is still the wild card for all those concerned about criminal cases ...

.... I almost forgot ! ... Whatever you do - Don't vote for Julio Gonzalez for Judge!!!

.......... Here is an amazing blog posting from a few years back, detailing how Judge Gonzalez coddled criminals of the worse kind.... We were able to deny him his Judgeship in the last election, but like a bad rash, he keeps coming back !!

Give it a read if you don't remember it....

    Crackhead Crackdown Showdown Update !

The substantial criminal records of the men who yesterday received a restraining order from Judge Julio E. Gonzalez Jr. against a Poinsettia Heights man, were obtained today by Tim Smith's Fort Lauderdale.

They are sometimes called the Railroad Track Gang, not so lovingly, by residents in the four neighborhoods surrounding NE 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

They have been holding up in makeshift campsites along the RR tracks, and some are suspect in the areas' recent surge in crimes. They had complained to the Public Defenders Office that local businessman and artist Steve Sticht, had chased them with a chainsaw, posted wanted posters of them, and threatened to kill them.

Sticht, a member of one of the area's anti-crime committees, says that is "all bull", that he just cut down one of their many campsites, dubbed "Camp Crackhead", after authorities were either unable or unwilling to accomplish it.

Here are the men and some highlights of their rap sheets:

It will be a complete travesty of the judicial election process if Julio Gonzalez does not win the seat for Circuit Court. As a judge, he was by far one of the most fair and knowledgeable in the building who was respected by both the State and the Defense. He was by far one of the hardest working judges, having the highest number of trials in county court, not including the circuit cases he tried, and the highest bar poll rating. For those of you who think that using the anonymity of the blog to spread slander is appropriate, shame on you for disparaging someone who clearly deserves the position and is clearly qualified for the position.

If there is slander Julio will sue, but he will not because whether you like it or not, things being said are true.

    He worked for Rothstien-Fact
He refuses to admit now he did- Fact
He was trying to short sale his house for 300k then list the value on his financial affidavits as 600k- Fact
He was in foreclosure twice since being of the bench- Fact
He was sued by AMEX for non payment of bills while on bench- Fact

Sorry Broward doesnt need someone who cant live within their means, properly manage their affiars and cant be straight about their work history on the Bench.

FYI The evil Jews as Julio likes to while about didnt cost him the race in 08, the voters simply voted him out. Look at the number, with the exception of Rodriguez, every other Judicial race with a Hispanic was decided by a point. Julio lost be 14 points, face it Teresa, the residents of Broward didnt want him them and will not want him a second time around.

Finally, where does he even get off seeking a promotion to Circuit Court when he couldnt even keep a County Court position.

I'll tell you where - he was a very good Judge that's how. He lost his judgeship (as did Judge Avalos) because of their name, that's how.

Sling all the crap you want. Good thing you're hiding, behind the computer, isn't it? You may have to face Julio one day, when he's on the bench again.

Oops Bob, if these FB posts being plastered all over the web are true, maybe slandering the woman online and accusing her of mental instability while you're chatting her up about kissing her "south of the equator" isn't such a good idea.

Wonder how your Republican-Cavalry Chapel-Tea Party friends will look at this, along with you representing crooked Dem. pols. pro bono (or is what you do Bro Bono, or is it Pro Boner, or Bro Boner).

Neither Avalos or Gonzales won their elections at the appropriate time when judges were going down like flies in Broward. The voters determine who sits and who doesn't. If you don't believe it ask Seidman if anyone even remembers his name. What resulted was the exercise of free and open elections. We need more contested races and an end to any judge thinking they can sit without facing the responsibilities of their actions both on and off the bench. Your debate seems to overlook what should be FACT...

To say that Ahern and I don't see eye to eye would be an understatement.

Actually.... as far as Nichols... you are incorrect. Dead wrong. Full of shit.

    Here's the thing.

If Nichols did indeed send a dick pick, to a woman he was representing, what does that say about his judgment?

And if he cocks (pun!) this up, what about when he has someone's freedom, or hell even their life, in his hands?

Can you trust him to make a right decision?

Would Judge Nichols cut someone a break if that someone was (a) female, and (b) had a nice rack?

    The other thought here.

Nichols appeared to have slandered this woman... Denied sending any messages.... Yet I have pages and pages and pages of what's supposed to be Facebook messages between the two parties.

Then again, Nichols gets his campaign advice from Terry Scott -- the same Scott who I opine stole from the Mango Festival. And the same Scott who recently told me if I ever wrote about him again, he'd cut my head off and hand it to my Mother (who's deceased by the way).

In rebuttal, I told Scott if he wasn't one Twinkie away from a diabetic coma, I'd take him more serious.
